RETIREMENTS
    Janet McNamara (Libraries) – Fall 2010
Janet, a retiree since last fall, was hired as a Senior Library Clerk at the Circulation Desk for the
Leroy V. Good Library in 1993. A few short years later she was promoted to Principal Library
Clerk (95). Jan was responsible for helping library patrons at the Circulation Desk at the
Brighton Campus including check-out, check-in, filing, material retrieval, fine collection, and
every day customer services. This year the Leroy Good Library was chosen as the Rochester
region’s academic library of the year. This award acknowledged the hard work of the Library
staff at MCC. Jan was a member of the MCC Library team being recognized. Her contributions
for public services and support for each and every student at the Central Desk are missed
already. Janet has been enjoying time with her grandchildren and traveling.

    Randall Rezabek (IT) – Fall 2010
Dr. Randy Rezabek retired last fall from his position as Coordinator. He was hired in 1998 as a
Coordinator for Professional Development. Randy is a pioneer for SUNY Learning Network and
online learning. He was the College’s first Instructional Designer. He was one of the first multi-
media designers within SUNY. He was a leader when MCC implemented CourseSpace in 2001
for web-enhancing face-to-face classes. Randy was involved in developing the ‘train-the-
trainer” courses which were adopted SUNY wide – and which he taught at the SUNY
Professional Training Center in Syracuse, NY. In 2006, he worked with the SUNY Learning
Network to transition from Lotus Notes to Angel. Randy developed training for all online
faculty for Angel courseware and also developed training for converting existing SLN courses to
the new platform. Randy is enjoying his retirement. He is taking online classes and doing
research in the area of military history, especially World War Two cryptology.

    Ellen Mancuso (LS) – Summer 2011
Ellen Mancuso started her career at MCC in 1989 when she was hired as a Circulation Librarian
and continued in this title until 2009 when her title was changed to Liaison and Metrics
Librarian and continued until she retired this summer. Ellen was responsible for the
coordination of library liaison activities, connecting the libraries with the teaching and learning
process as well as with other College departments such as the Counseling and Advising Center,
Academic Support Services, and Curriculum and Program Development. She also supported
library statistical and metrics reporting for external and internal constituencies through data
collection and reporting. In 1991 Ellen was selected as a recipient of the SUNY Chancellor’s
Award for Excellence in Librarianship for the year 1990-91 – an award bestowed upon
University professional librarians who have demonstrated extraordinary professional
achievement in the field of librarianship. She served on the Faculty Association since 1998 and
was Legislative Committee Chair when she retired. Ellen was an active member of Good
Shepard Church in Henrietta and continues to volunteer her time to the Church.
