                                  President’s Report
Not the way we had all hoped the Season would end after so much promise & progress had been
shown throughout 2012. Both Seniors & Reserves went down to YCW on Sunday bringing an end
to 2012 for all Karingal FNC teams.

The Reserves battled strongly but just couldn’t convert the F50 entries – 10 Scoring Shots just
wasn’t enough. The Truth is that David Measham & his team have done a wonderful job with a
young reserves team this year and these players have already and will continue to be the back
bone of our future Senior team for years to come. Although we lost both finals to more hardened &
season players – OUR TEAM – has come from just 4 years ago when we didn’t win a solitary
game – to the Best Reserves team in the Competition. (Apart from the Coach we had no one over
30 & 13 of the 22 have tasted Senior Football in the last 2 Seasons – Great Succession Planning!)
Well Done to all involved and although we didn’t win a Trophy we certainly won some respect –
and most importantly both ON & OFF field. Go BULLS

The Seniors didn’t learn their lesson from Mt Eliza (that really hurts) you simply cannot give good
sides head starts. During the season we ran both YCW (although we lost to them twice by a
combined 22 points) & Mt Eliza ragged but Premierships are WON in finals and we just didn’t
replicate that form when required. YCW slaughtered us for the first 15 minutes to take a 4 goal
lead and for the rest of the game it fluctuated between 42 & 12 but we never controlled the game
enough to show we would win… We have no excuses. Over the last 3 years OUR team has built
to become a perennial threat but to become a powerhouse we must win a PREMIERSHIP – Bring
on 2013!

Thank you to all the guys who contributed on Field especially a retiring Bevan Malloy who has give
Karingal FNC amazing service over a 20+ Year term including Juniors – Thank you.

Off Field Dunney, Hammo, Troy , Blair, Stoney, Andy & Gagey work as hard as possible to provide
the best environment to excel – We must not let this culture Stop, Ever. Go BULLS

Finally Thank you to all C44 Members, Red & White Army members, committee players and

We have many disadvantages as a club but the truth is that the People within our organization are
its strongest asset.

I expect to see you all again in 2013 – Go BULLS - Digger
Football Report
Seniors: Karingal : 12.9-87 – YCW: 15.6-106

Prelim Final and we came up against YCW we had not beaten YCW during the year but had some
close games so we went into the game confident.

The first quarter was not our best quarter for the year and it saw them take a 28 point lead, they
dominated the middle section of the ground and we allowed them to much lose football. The rest
of the game the bulls battled really hard and at times looked like we could take the lead but it
seemed we would always be taking two steps forward one step back. It just proves that you
cannot give teams a head start. The end margin was close to the quarter time margin so for three
quarters we were good but for one not up to scratch.

Special mentions go to Chris Hay kicking 5 and capping off a fantastic year with 96 goals well
done. Also LVR and Duncan were also great, Burke showed plenty off class and Budda lead the
tackle count and played a great hard at it contest.

Thank you for all of the support during the year the bulls love it and it's great seeing the red and
white. Thank you to Digga and the board for all their hard work and effort over the year also thank
you to the trainers for all their dedication, thank you to all the coaching panel your support all year
was fantastic thank you and lastly well done to Bevan a fantastic career he has been a great
servant to local and VFL football a quality player that I feel got everything out of himself, he
displayed great professionalism and left no stone unturned.

Lastly we wish Jason Hammond all the best with his fight it is important that he knows that the
bulls family is right behind him and we wish him the best of luck!!!!!

Carn the Bulls - Dunney
Reserves: Karingal 5.5-35 – YCW 12.9-81

A fantastic effort by the guys for a wonderful year.

At the beginning of the year we had a large group of players willing to play football, for the jumper.
There were many exciting games and super individual efforts throughout the season. This was
the first final series for a lot of players and to finish on top of the ladder and experience finals footy
for the first time was a great achievement. Unfortunately we were unable to beat YCW over the
weekend with a number of contributing factors.

The main issue was decision making under pressure. We dominated several passages of play
without improving our position on the scoreboard. Our pressure was good, but our disposal,
particularly under pressure was not up to standard. This will come with experience and a hunger
to be successful.

We had a very successful year with many people to thank. Simon Drago, Craig Shaw, Jamie
Bartling and Ralph Hallal were always there when needed.

I'd like to thank all the players, committee members and supporters and hope we are all back
hungrier and stronger next year. GO BULLS!
CLUB 44 - Honoring Justin Groves

Club 44 was struck in honor of the memory of Justin Groves, a player who tragically passed away in his twenties.
Justin was a passionate Karingal person who wore his heart on his sleeve and it is hoped that members of Club 44
share the passion and desire for success that Justin possessed not only for Karingal but in life. The Groves family
has had an association with Karingal for over 30 years and those who have witnessed Justin’s father and brother
David and Paul supporting the club will understand how much victory would have meant to Justin.

The number 44 is symbolic because this is the number Justin wore in all of his games for Karingal. Club 44 retains an
element of exclusivity because of its limited with the Club 44 insignia printed on them.

In 2004 the Groves family struck an annual award to be given at each Presentation Night. The Club 44 award is given
to the player exhibiting the qualities that Justin displayed throughout his career. Courage to perform under adversity,
Determination to succeed against stronger opposition and Tenacity to persist until the result is achieved. In addition to
a trophy the winner can elect to wear jumper number 44 in the following season, his family feels truly touched by the
warmth with which this club has been accepted.

Even with Justin’s passing he continues to have an emotional and tangible influence on the success of the Karingal
                                                   Football Club
