Progression to Final Year


1.   Pass a total of 60 ECTS:
        B.Comm – 50 obligatory + 10 optional credits
        B.Comm International – 55 obligatory + 5 optional credits
        B.Comm Accounting – 55 obligatory + 5 optional credits

2.   Pass mark is 40%;

3.   Students are allowed to compensate up to 10 credits at 35%; Students with up
     to 10 ECTS of Compensation will NOT be permitted to repeat these modules.

4.   Where more than 10 credits are compensatable, student may choose which
     subject to repeat for Clear Pass to reduce compensatables to 10 credits.

Progression to Final Year



B.Comm & B.Comm (Accounting) Students have to pass ALL modules in 2nd year

BEFORE they can progress to final year.



B.Comm International students must accumulate 50 of the 60 ECTS credits specified

for 2BC2,3,4&5, including at least 15 ECTS in the relevant language study modules

before going abroad. Students must pass ALL the requirements of Second year

BEFORE they can progress to final year..

Marks & Standards

Years Work
•   Must obtain 35% or more in the written examination before marks for Years Work
    may be added to determine the overall mark in the subject.
Overall Average for Second Year:
•   B.Comm. - 50 obligatory credits + 10 optional credits
•   B.Comm Accounting - 55 obligatory credits + 5 optional credits
•   B.Comm. International - 55 obligatory credits + 5 optional credits
Second Year Results will count towards your Degree Average and Grade:
•   The overall degree mark will be derived from adding together 50% of the
    Second Year marks + 50% of the Final Year aggregate marks.

• 70%                  First Class Honours (H1)
•   60%                Second Class Honours Grade 1 (H 2.1)

Second Year Repeat Examinations
• Students must present for the initial examination in a module unless
   permission has been granted from the School Office.
• Medical certificates should be supplied to the School Office if and when
   seeking permission to defer an exam;
