Hamilton Tours Feb. Issue 2005 3/2/05 12:10 PM Page 3
Dear Friends and Business Colleagues,
We are excited that 2005 marks our 20th year in business. Our compa-
ny was started by Bob & Ruth Hamilton on November 2, 1985 with a day
trip to St. Jacobs. For the next 10 years Bob & Ruth were the familiar faces
as your driver and escort in what was supposed to be a part time venture.
We joined the company in December of 1987 and job shared one position
for the first 2 years. Some of you may remember visiting the office - orig-
inally a trailer and seeing our two youngest children as toddlers. Upon
Bob & Ruth’s retirement we bought the company and moved to our pres-
ent location at the entrance to the Husky Restaurant on Jan. 1st, 2001.
Our company has seen many changes in the last two decades both in the
size of operation and technology. We have gone from being a day tour Fern Ramsey, Susanne
business only, that operated one tour a month, to travelling thousands of Hamilton, Mary Morton &
kilometers across North America by motor coach, to now include Julie Blythe (L to R)
fly/drive programs with destinations such as Scotland, Ireland, Germany
and Newfoundland.
We have seen tremendous changes in technology as there were no cell phones, voice mail, fax machines or
computers in our office when we started. Likewise today’s motor coaches are more state-of-the-art and offer
such amenities as CD players, VHS movies, circular staircases and kneeling buses that now carry up to 56
passengers.
We are kicking off our 20th anniversary year with a Newfoundland/Labrador Showcase on Saturday, April
9. Circle Friday, September 9th on your calendar for our Anniversary Open House & BBQ at Holy Martyrs
Church in Bradford. Details will follow in our Summer flyer. We will take you down memory lane and revis-
it some of our original destinations including a November tour to St. Jacobs.
Our company’s philosophy remains the same today as it did 20 years ago, and that is to provide “quality,
personalized escorted tours.” We thank you for your continued support and patronage.
Sincerely, Susanne Hamilton & Julie Blythe
