 Valencia’s Career Programs
Valencia Facts

     • 2nd largest of Florida’s 28 community colleges
     • 4 main campuses (East/West/Osceola/Winter Park )and
a 5th campus opening up in Lake Nona. Currently serve
       over 70,000 students – (65,000 credit students)
     • Valencia is one of the Top Producers of Associates
       Degrees in the nation.
     • Tuition is very affordable – about 40% less than a
       university.
     • Through a unique partnership with UCF called “Direct
Connect”, AA grads are guaranteed admission to UCF’s
       upper division classes.
Degree & Certificate Options
Valencia offers many options for your students:

        • Technical Certificates – shorter in length (12 – 35 credits) and are
designed to equip students with a specialized skill set for
immediate employment. Most can be completed in one year or
less, and all of the courses can be applied toward the A.S. degree.
        • A.A.S. and A.S. Degrees – provide specialized training and are
designed to prepare students for immediate employment in the
          workforce.
        • A.A. Degrees – for students who are seeking a bachelor’s degree
and complete their first two years at Valencia and then transfer to
the university to complete their upper division courses.
        • Bachelor’s Degrees – This year, we have started offering our first
two 2 bachelor’s degrees: B.S. in Electrical and Computer
Engineering Technology, and Radiologic and Imaging Sciences.
A.A.S./A.S. DEGREE ADVANTAGES

    • Valencia’s offers 102 Career programs that prepare students for
immediate entry into the workforce. We have 34 AAS/AS Degrees
      and 68 Technical Certificate programs.

    • We offer a wide range of programs that are in some of the fastest-
growing, high-skill/high-wage industries in Central Florida.

    • These programs are developed under the guidance of top
business and industry employers, and allow graduates to move
      directly into the workforce.

    • And for Students who wish to continue their education, all of our
A.S. degrees will transfer into UCF’s Bachelor’s of Applied Science
      degree.
A.A.S./A.S. DEGREE ADVANTAGES
    • Approximately 39% of Valencia’s credit students are AS/AAS
      Degree majors.

    • The average annual salary of a worker with an A.S. Degree is
more than double that of a high school graduate.

    • In fact, 95% of Valencia’s A.S. degree graduates are placed in jobs
after graduation earning average starting salaries of $42,000+.

    • According to the Agency for Workforce Innovation, almost two-
thirds of the fastest-growing jobs will be in occupations requiring
some type of postsecondary education beyond high school.

    • Our A.S. degrees offer a great value for your students. With as
little as two years of education beyond high school, your students
can be on the path to a real career and a well-paying job.
Employment Projections
    • Florida is projected to gain more than 1 million new jobs between
      2011 and 2019 (1.62% annual growth)
    • Major industry sectors gaining the most new jobs are:
education & health, and professional & business services.
    • Five occupational groups: (clerical, sales, healthcare professionals,
food service, & construction) will account for 50% of the new jobs.
    • Clerical, sales, and healthcare professional occupations will gain
      the most new jobs.
    • Of the top 10 fastest-growing occupations, all require
postsecondary training: 4 are healthcare related, 4 are
construction related, and 7 earn more than $15 per hour.
    • Occupations expected to grow the fastest will be jobs that are
higher skilled, require more education and training, and have a
higher earnings potential. (Source: Florida Agency for Workforce Innovation LMS)
