Yellowfin Calls For Participants In Dresner’s 2012 Mobile BI Market Study

Global Business Intelligence (BI) software vendor, Yellowfin, has called
on its customers and other BI users to participate in the end-user survey
for Dresner Advisory Services’ (DAS) fourth annual Mobile Business
Intelligence Market Study.

Melbourne, VIC, Australia, September 26, 2012 -- The end-user survey
analyses and examines the maturity of the Mobile BI marketplace, and is
used to “identify key trends in the plans, adoption and deployment of
Mobile BI”, according to former Gartner Research Fellow, and President,
Founder & Chief Research Officer of DAS, Howard Dresner.

The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, and is open until
5 October 2012.

“Dresner Advisory Services’ Mobile BI study was one of the first and most
revealing research initiatives offering insight into the current state
and future trends of the global Mobile BI marketplace,” said Yellowfin
CEO, Glen Rabie. “We strongly encourage all Yellowfin customers and BI
users worldwide to participate, to provide vendors with the feedback we
need to deliver the most useful and intuitive Mobile BI experience

The study also ranks BI vendors’ mobile capabilities according to the
number of platforms supported, the level of platform integration and
range of features offered.

Yellowfin’s Mobile BI platform scored a total of 17 points out of a
possible 22 in the most recent iteration of DAS’ Mobile BI Market Study
(October 2011), awarding the vendor the equal second highest score. The
highest score achieved was 18. Yellowfin was also awarded the equal
second highest score in the February 2011 edition.

Dresner stated in the October 2011 report that he expected Mobile BI to
revolutionize the way people used and consumed business information.

“We believe that we’re in the midst of a profound shift toward Mobile BI
(and mobile computing),” wrote Dresner. “We believe this paradigm shift
will affect everyone and have as much impact as the Internet did, over

“The impact of Mobile BI… will change the way that we work, our ability
to respond more quickly and to align towards common purpose. This notion
of pervasiveness has always been the mission of BI, which may now finally
be realized with the catalyst of mobile computing.”
