Dear Mr. McNeely:

On behalf of the North Carolina Partnership for Children and our local partnerships, I would like to thank
you for the in-kind contribution made by McNeely Associates of a Maclntosh Classic computer and a
Macintosh LC computer to the Smart Start Initiative. We appreciate the generous support that you have
provided through your contribution.

This has already been an extremely busy year for Smart Start. Every county in North Carolina is now
delivering services to young children and their families through Smart Start. It no longer matters where a
child lives in North Carolina. Every child will be able to access the services they need to begin school
healthy and ready to succeed. While we still need additional funding to meet our goal of serving ALL
children in our great state, we are much further along in this journey than we were even a year ago.

We will continue to keep you updated throughout the year. In the meantime, if you have specific
questions, please contact Gerry Cobb, our Director of Development, at 919-821 7999 x232. She will
make sure you get everything you need.

Again, thank you for your commitment to Smart Start and for all that you do to build brighter futures for
the children of North Carolina.

Sincerely,

Karen W. Ponder
