You will be given a Request Number for your computer equipment and an appointment will be made with you within 8 working hours of a computer equipment problem being reported to the service point. Appointments will be made between 09:00 till 17:00, Monday to Friday. To attend your appointment during term times you will need to visit Campus Service Point, taking your faulty computer equipment along with you. The Campus Service Point is situated on the ground floor of the IT Services Building on main campus The servicepoint team of experienced technicians will perform the repair to your computer equipment on campus wherever possible. In some instances your computer equipment will need to be sent away for more detailed inspection and repair, but we expect the majority of issues to be resolved by the end of the next working day.
Outside of term times, the Service Point can provide various options for the repair of your faulty computer equipment including: From the Campus Service Point Via a courier service from your UK based home to the Campus Service Point and return to your home. By special arrangement, a service point engineer will visit your home address to repair or collect for repair your computer equipment.
Updates concerning the repair to your computer equipment are available upon request from the Helpdesk. Please ensure you retain your Request Number for the repair that is in progress. You will be notified when your computer equipment has been repaired and is ready to be collected from the Campus Service Point or when it will be delivered to you. Please note: Whenever possible you are expected to backup the hard drives on your computer equipment before repairs or upgrades are undertaken as data may be lost during repair.
