To be considered for a summer Federal Direct Stafford Loan, Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan or Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan, you must meet all general eligibility requirements and be
enrolled at USC at least half-time during the summer 2012 semester. Undergraduate students must register for six (6) or more units, master’s candidates must register for four (4) or more units,
and doctoral candidates must register for three (3) or more units. Some private financing programs also require you to be enrolled at least half-time in a degree program.

If you wish to be considered for a summer loan, you must:
   1. Complete both pages of the Summer Loan Request Form and sign and date page 2.
   2. Submit the completed Summer Loan Request Form to our office at least six (6) weeks before the start of your first summer session. Electronic document upload is preferred, and is
the quickest, most efficient way to submit materials to our office. Please visit www.usc.edu/financialaid and click on “My Financial Aid & Documents” for specific instructions.
   3. Upon receipt of your request, the Financial Aid Office will determine if your Summer Loan will be processed as part of your 2011–2012 or 2012–2013 financial aid package and notify
you accordingly. If your summer Federal Direct Loans are based on 2012–2013 eligibility, you will need to submit a 2012–2013 FAFSA before we can complete the process. Graduate
students must also submit a 2012–2013 Supplemental Form online.

Note: If your summer loan is based on your 2012–2013 eligibility, your loan will be processed for the Summer/Fall loan period. The amount you request will be disbursed in two equal
installments, one at the start of each term. If you are unsure of how much to request, contact the Financial Aid Office for more information. For more information on the Federal
      Direct Loan Program, visit www.usc.edu/directloans.
