Seasonal Achievements ● Directed Fabric research in the initial design area of men’s bottoms category of fabrications and garment packages for Polo Classics and Concepts , Golf and Special projects from concept development through market ready product for the RL global business. ● Led the initiative to maintain fresh fashion forward fabric and silhouette design for core heritage bottoms , shorts and trousers in both twill and plain weave in the vein of ‘Hampton Chino’ colored bottoms. ● Pioneered key relationships with suppliers for design development capabilities and profit advantages that were used across brands for their flexibility in heritage weaves, yarn dye capacity and garment finishing, washing and dying excellence. ● Instrumental in bringing European , South American and Asian suppliers to the design table to produce exclusive yarn dye selections for classic bottoms, a highly lucrative reverse chino short program ,Cotton fancy ‘Gents’ exclusive trouser designs, stone washed and silk blends. ● Created a 1st sample design protocol with local independent factories and wash facilities to create sample lines for use in making proprietary designs. Key Project Initiatives Achieved ● Established unique vendor relationship in S.A. for vertical garment dye programs in Pima cotton two ply twill, for Polo classics and Golf core business resulting in a four year success story with competitive margins and advantageous duty. ● Brought in an Asian niche vertical supplier to achieve a new core products category in men’s bottoms. For the First time in brand history the men’s pants top sales performer (second only to classic chino) was a Silk blend casual pant. ● Challenged to design a product ladder with this trading partner , resulting in sand and garment washed garment dye category of year round men’s bottoms in a full range of silk cotton, silk cotton linen, linen cotton, and tri-blends. Developed concept specific designs seasonally from rugged silk to parachute weight. ● Created an original program of a cotton cavalry plain and fancy twill in a ‘miracle’ micro sueded finish design that fulfilled both profit margins and a demanding design aesthetic. ● Designed color and layout combinations in a classic vintage menswear pinstripe that were custom woven with a niche supplier leading to a ten year run of Classic Irish linen and Linen blend laundered pinstripes. This iconic menswear fabric was also adopted in other design areas including women’s, Rugby, accessories, and a highly profitable FOA category. ● Directed a staff for Men’s Rugby brand Bottoms and Jackets at a time of rapid expansion, bringing Polo mens iconic looks and twisting design expertise and vendor leverage to create more youthful Collegiate heritage looks in a boutique sales driven , less flexible design cycle.
