      Titus 2.11-14
             Titus 2.11-14
For the grace of God that brings salvation has
appeared to all men. It teaches us to say "No"
to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to
live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in
this present age, while we wait for the blessed
hope-- the glorious appearing of our great God
and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for
us to redeem us from all wickedness and to
purify for himself a people that are his very
own, eager to do what is good.
    1. Grace Of God Appeared
11 For the grace of God that brings salvation
  has appeared to all men
Jn 1.14 The Word became flesh and made his
  dwelling among us. We have seen his glory,
  the glory of the One and Only, who came
  from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Jn 1.17 For the law was given through Moses;
  grace and truth came through Jesus Christ
1A. Revealed To Take Away Sin
11 For the grace of God that brings salvation
  has appeared to all men.
14a who gave himself for us to redeem us
  from all wickedness.
Eph 2.8-9 For it is by grace you have been
  saved, through faith-- and this not from
  yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by
  works, so that no one can boast.
     2. Grace Of God Is Available
   When we receive God’s grace and are born
    again, we have 2 natures: our old ‘sin’ nature
    and our new nature, God’s nature: Holy Spirit

   The old nature is not removed from us
    completely. We no longer have sin control us
    if we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit

12 It [Grace] teaches us to say "No" to

   Grace is our teacher to show us how to live a
    victorious life in Christ in the present

 escape the corruption in the world caused by
 evil desires.

2. Godliness is seen through hard
  effort/commitment
1 Tim 4.7-8 Have nothing to do with godless
  myths and old wives' tales; rather, train
  yourself to be godly. For physical training is
  of some value, but godliness has value for all
  things, holding promise for both the present
  life and the life to come.

  I am, and his grace to me was not without
  effect. No, I worked harder than all of them-
  - yet not I, but the grace of God that was
  with me.
 3. Grace Removes Sin Forever
13 while we wait for the blessed hope-- the
  glorious appearing of our great God and
  Savior, Jesus Christ
1 Jn 3.2-3 Dear friends, now we are children of
  God, and what we will be has not yet been
  made known. But we know that when he
  appears, we shall be like him, for we shall
  see him as he is. Everyone who has this
  hope in him purifies himself, just as he is
