                 Economy
PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
To examine the current educational
system and structure and to identify
  recommendations that will help
  educators prepare students for a
    competitive global economy.

Assume that we will do the job

 high school graduates going on

  and districts everywhere-how
 the system should be governed,
     financed, organized and
             managed.

students who need it the most.

 ATC DOING TO ADDRESS
  THESE TYPE OF ISSUES
   WITHIN OUR AREA?
    Introducing Career and
Technical Education as the NEW
    option for young people.
HOW ARE WE DOING THIS?
Working collaboratively with Marion
County Public Schools, the Kentucky
Office of Career and Technical
Education, local business and
industry, the Office of Economic
Development and the Department of
Workforce Investment to develop a
marketing plan.

   Marion Co. Partners Marketing Team
               Mission Statement
Our mission is to develop and implement a
 comprehensive marketing plan to enhance
the visibility, image, and value of career and
 technical education throughout the Marion
  Co. school district and community for the
    purpose of affecting a meaningful and
        positive change of perception.
               GOALS

   To achieve increased visibility
   To foster an enhanced public image
   To affect a positive change of
    perception
   To achieve increased enrollment
  STRATEGIC COMMENT
          Strategic Commitment
   We are committed to fostering unity in
 marketing career and technical education
programs for the benefit of all the partners
  in the Lebanon/Marion Co. local school
district and community through teamwork,
         consistency and continuity.
           PLAN OF ACTION
   Provide academic credit for ATC courses
    -2007-2008 school year will provide geometry
    credit for 2 carpentry courses
   Implement Project Lead the Way (District
    initiative)
    -Pre-engineering curriculum
   Design posters with our own ATC students to
    increase visibility of program
           PLAN OF ACTION
   Provide professional development activities for
    Marion County Public Schools related to
    Career and Technical Education
   Provide opportunities for younger students to
    explore options at the MCATC
      -8th Grade-A Day in Career and Technical
      Education
    -Summer Camps
            PLAN OF ACTION
   Through collaboration with Chamber of
    Commerce developing a National Technical
    Honor Society-first class will be inducted this
    May
   Increase cooperative learning activities for
    young people
