									                      Children’s Occupational Therapy

                                Referral Criteria

      For children/young people resident in Stockport and registered with a
       Stockport GP or where the GP has a contract with Stockport PCT.

      For pre-school and school-aged children/young people with physical
       disabilities/profound multiple learning disabilities who have mobility,
       access and equipment needs.

      For children aged under 5 who score two bands below, in the areas of
       Fine Motor and Activities of Daily Living skills, on the SOGS (Schedule
       of Growing Skills).

      For children/young people with developmental co-ordination disorders,
       who have specific functional difficulties interfering in the development
       of play, self-care and academic skills.

      For children/young people in hospital (Tree House at Stepping Hill)
       who have equipment needs e.g. seating, bathing, with follow up at
       home.

      For Stockport children/young people, post-discharge, from hospitals
       out of area, where there are access and equipment needs at home and
       school. The service works closely with Children’s Equipment &
       Adaptations Service (CEAS)

Specific areas of difficulty:

      Hand function (fine motor skills).

      Perception, including visual perception.

      Motor Co-ordination.

      Sensory processing (hypersensitivity to touch, sound and movement
       experiences)
