P2 - Key concepts associated with diversity
Multiculturalism is a public policy approach for managing diverse
cultures in a multiethnic society. This may stress mutual respect and
tolerance for cultural differences within a country. For example,
some people are starting to believe that their culture is being
erased and the jobs they have are in danger.
They were separated at cool and other public places. Black people’s
rights, white people’s rights were separated. It was the separation
of race and ethnicity. It was believed to be the result of fear
because people felt scared of anyone who was different from them.
Inclusion is the involvement of everyone and making them equal in
the creation process in life. It’s about eliminating discrimination and
promoting equality to everyone.
For example in education, inclusion is valuing everyone equally both
students and staff. This would reduce exclusion from people’s
Treating all ethnicities equally and given same rights and
opportunities. It is the elimination of things such as
victimisation, sexual harassment and discrimination. This
promotes the equality of everyone.
