victory through the end-times by rynsal

      A. The Bible tells us that there is a time of great trouble coming to the earth. This time is called the great tribulation and it is just
before the return of Jesus Christ. We are told that in the last 3 ½ years of human history that more than ½ of the earth’s
population is going to be wiped out.

24 "But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; 25 the stars of
heaven will fall, and the powers in heaven will be shaken. 26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with
great power and glory. 27 And then He will send His angels, and gather together His elect from the four winds, from the
farthest part of earth to the farthest part of heaven. Mark 13:24-27

      B. HISTORY - Pre-tribulation rapture of the saints within Premillennialism is probably the most popular Eschatological view
among evangelical and charismatic believers in our current time. Prior to 1830, this view was not known to be held by the
church. It began with a private revelation received by a young Scottish woman, Margaret Macdonald . J.N.Darby (1800-1882),
also known by many as the father of modern Dispensationalism later visited her and adopted her teaching. It was later made
popular through C.I. Scofield through the publication of the Scofield Reference Bible in 1909. Since this Eschatological scheme
was included in the Scofield notes within the Bible, many pastors and teachers considered it a sound theological teaching.
Source: Schwertley, Brian. (1999), The origin of the pre-tribulation rapture teaching.

            1. passages used in pre-trib theology:

                      a. Revelation 3:10. “Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial
which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.”

(1)The pretribulation interpretation of Revelation 3:10 is totally off the mark for a number of reasons. First,
standard biblical methods of interpretation must be completely ignored to apply this passage to a future
tribulation two thousand years in the future. The letter is addressed to a specific church (Philadelphia) in Asia
Minor in the first century. The specific promise that is made by Jesus is given to the Philadelphian Christians
and cannot be applied directly to all the churches of Asia Minor or the universal church. For example, the
church of Smyrna is told that they “will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful unto death” (Rev. 2:10). They
are to take comfort in the fact that they cannot be hurt by the second death (2:11). They are not promised
protection from the coming time of tribulation.

                      b. Revelation 4:1, “After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice
which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, ‘Come up here, and I will show you things which
                           must take place after this.’”

(1)Not one word is uttered that suggests that John represents the church or that the people of God as a whole
are taken to heaven. Also, there is not any mention or any indication whatsoever of a descent by Christ or a
resurrection of the saints. In Revelation 4:1 there is mention of a trumpet but this is not the trumpet blast
announcing the rapture. It is a voice that has a sound of a trumpet just like the voice of authority that John
heard in Revelation 1:10, “I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a
trumpet.” What occurred in Revelation 4:1 with John was no different than the transportation and throne
room scenes experienced by other prophets

                      c. 2 Thessalonians 2:6-7, “And now ye know that which restraineth, to the end that he may be revealed in his own
season. For the mystery of lawlessness doth already work: only there is one that restraineth now, until he be
                           taken out of the way”
Awakened Internship Class - End times II – Ryan Corrigan PAGE 2

(1)The standard Dispensationalist understanding of this passage is that the restrainer spoken of is the Holy
Spirit. Pretribulationists argue that since the Holy Sprit dwells and works to restrain evil by means of the
church, a removal of the Spirit entails a removal of the church. Once the church is raptured the Antichrist will
be revealed. Realizing the obviously unbiblical nature of the standard view, many modern Dispensationalists
argue that the Holy Spirit is not taken away, “but ‘taken out of the way;’ thus the Holy Spirit will continue a
divine activity to the end-time, though not as a restrainer of evil through the church.”10 In other words the
Holy Spirit doesn’t go away to heaven, He merely gets out of the way so that the anti-Christ can have sway
over the masses. This interpretation avoids the absurdity of mass conversions without the Holy Spirit

                               d. 1 Thessalonians 5:9, “For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus

(1)It is argued that the great tribulation is an unprecedented time of God’s wrath falling upon the whole
world. Since believers are specifically told that they are not appointed to wrath, it is only logical to conclude
that the church will be removed from the earth before God’s wrath is poured out. This removal is the rapture
of the saints. This argument for the rapture is fallacious for a number of reasons. First, it assumes that the
wrath spoken of in verse 9 is the wrath poured out during the tribulation. The context of chapter 5 however
makes it abundantly clear that the wrath spoken of in verse 5 is not the wrath of the tribulation but the wrath
that occurs at the second coming of Christ—the day of the Lord

          C. The original apostles did not believe in pre-tribulation rapture. They believed they themselves were going through the great

The Exodus Passover seen as a type of the End Times as described in Revelation [and elsewhere.]

A. As Egypt is a type of the World the Exodus Passover deals with the Children of Israel in Egypt while Revelation deals with God's people
throughout the world.

B. God uses two prophets, Moses and Aaron to announce and pronounce his plagues on Egypt. In Revelation, He uses his two witnesses in the same

C. One of the plagues in Egypt is darkness over all the land. At the Return of the Lord, the sun will be turned to dark. [Also we are told, the kingdom
of the beast was filled with darkness.]

D. In Exodus, God's people are protected from the plagues by living in the Land of Goshen which was untouched. In Revelation, Gods people are
sealed in their foreheads by the angel for their protection.

E. The Children of Israel are protected from the final plague by having the blood of the Passover Lamb on their door posts. In Revelation, God's
people overcome by the Blood of the Lamb, the word of their testimony and their willingness to die for Jesus.

F. The Pharaoh of Exodus is a picture of the Beast [anti-Christ] of Revelation.

G. Pharaoh and his armies pursue Israel to the shore of the Red Sea in Exodus. In the last days, The Beast and his armies invade Israel.

H. In Exodus, Pharaoh's armies are held up by the Lord. The Lord fights against the Beast at Armageddon.

I. Pharaoh and his armies are destroyed in the sea. The beast and his armies are destroyed in the last battle.

To these points I would add the following:

1. Israel lived in Egypt but they were not assimilated into their culture. So also God's people are called to be 'in the world but not of the world'.

2. Israel lives in a separate area called the Land of Goshen. God's people in these end times are instructed to 'come out of her' and to be holy
[separate] so they will not be hurt by her [Babylon's] judgments.

3. Pharaoh, the horse and rider, were cast into the sea, and the beast and false prophet will be cast into the lake of fire.

4. When the Lord slew all the firstborn of Egypt in the 10th plague, he also judged the 'gods of Egypt' When the Lord returns to fight the final battle,
he first carries out judgment on the heavenly powers.

Dan Juster also makes the following points comparing Roman times with End times.

A. During Roman times, there was opposition to the Gospel all throughout the empire. The End Times will exhibit similar opposition all through the

B. During Roman times the Gospel was also opposed by Judaism, Today this is still the case.

C. In Roman Times Caesar was worshipped. In the End times, the Beast is worshipped.

D. In Roman times the church was in great warfare and many were killed in the persecution. The End Times will see great persecution and
martyrdom of the church [the saints].

The Passover Pattern

Here is our comparison of three Passovers.

A. Passover of Exodus

 1. Before the plagues of Egypt, Israel comes under Moses' leadership;

     1. The two prophets are Moses and Aaron
     2. There was darkness over the land of Egypt.

 1. Sacrifice of the Lamb is followed by these events: [given in exact order]

      1. God's people under the blood are protected
      2. The destroying angel is released [this is the final plague]
      3. Firstborn of Egypt are slain
      4. There was a great cry in Egypt. [Ex. 12:30]
      5. Pharaoh lets Israel go
      6. Israel leaves Egypt
      7. Israel brings Joseph's bones out of the grave
      8. Firstborn of God's people are redeemed
      9. Final pursuit by Pharaoh
     10. Israel passes through the sea
     11. Final Victory, Pharaoh destroyed, horse and rider in the sea.

B. Jesus, our Passover

 1. Jesus begins his ministry by proclaiming the Kingdom is at hand.

   a. The two prophets are John and Jesus.

   b. Mt 4:16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
 2. The Sacrifice of Jesus is followed by these events. [given in approximate order]

      1. Jesus cries out loudly.
      2. God's people are saved from the second death by the Blood [the first death is only 'the shadow of death', a shadow of the second death.
      3. Jesus is judged and tastes death for us.
      4. Satan is judged and rebuked
      5. Veil of temple is torn
      6. Holy of Holies visible
      7. Saints come out of their graves
      8. Jesus is redeemed and given all power.
      9. Jesus enters Hell
     10. Jesus released the captives in Hell
     11. Jesus rises in victory over death, hell and the grave.

                                                           Zadok House of Prayer

C. Second Coming of Christ

  1. Before the end time judgments fall, Jesus establishes His kingdom by taking the scroll. [Rev 5:7] This is acknowledged in Rev 11:17 and Rev

   a. The two prophets are the two witnesses.

    b. Isa 60:2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall
be seen upon thee.
  2. The completion of the Martyrs [fullness of the gentiles] is followed by these events: [given in approximate order]

      1. God is gone up with a shout!
      2. Resurrection of the saints [church], typified by the two witnesses.
      3. Day of Judgment. The wrath of God is released. [Rom. 12:19]
      4. Heavenly powers fall
      5. Veil of blindness removed
      6. Israel looks on the one whom they pierced
      7. Israel repents calling on the name of the Lord
      8. Israel saved
      9. Israel invaded
     10. Armageddon
     11. Final Victory, Beast and Co. destroyed. Death and Hell destroyed.

The Pattern of the Tasks.

Tasks and Commissions

Now in closing let's make some comparisons on another level. These will be partly derived from an earlier article "Moses' Commission".

Moses tasks included:

     1. Reveal to God's people, Israel, that God had sent him.
     2. Proclaim God's Kingdom and pronounce His Judgments.
     3. Symbolically demonstrate power over Satan, this was the sign of the rod and serpent
     4. Symbolically demonstrate victory over sin and death by resurrection. This was the sign of the leprous hand.
     5. Symbolically demonstrate the work of the Spirit by pouring water from the river out on the land.
     6. Carryout the Passover sacrifice that led to their deliverance and victory

Jesus' tasks included:

     1. Reveal the Father to God's people.
     2. Proclaim God's Kingdom and pronounce His Judgments.
     3. Demonstrate power over Satan, heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out devils.
     4. Demonstrate victory over sin and death through his own resurrection.
     5. Send the Holy Spirit to his disciples on Pentecost
     6. Become the Passover sacrifice that resulted in our salvation.

The End Time Saints tasks include.

     1. Reveal Jesus Christ to the lost world.
     2. Proclaim God's Kingdom and pronounce His Judgments.
     3. Over come Satan through the Word, their testimony and martyrdom.
     4. Follow the lamb by going through the same death and resurrection.
     5. Become empowered to do the greater works when the Spirit is poured out on all flesh. [Joel 2, Acts 2]
     6. Offer themselves a living sacrifice [Rom 12:1-2] in a new fulfillment of Passover

All this requires and End Time Church that is far different than what we have now. In Matthew 16, Jesus spoke these words about his end time

Judgment of the gods.

                                                         Zadok House of Prayer

Notice how the gods of Egypt are mentioned in the following passage.

Ex 12:12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all
the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.

This is the only time the gods are mentioned as part of that judgment. It serves to give us a clue to the spiritual meaning of the First Born of Egypt.
And it points ahead to the second coming identifying the first born who are to be slain at that time. These are the powers of heaven, the gods of
Egypt, the gods of this world, principalities, powers and rulers of wickedness in high places. [1 Cor. 2:6-8; Eph. 6-12; Rom. 8:38-39; Col. 2:14-15; Ps

          A. The End Times are like a perfectly cut Jewel and have many facets to them. The Lord is accomplishing His will on “millions” of
different levels, and so many times we don’t understand how they all correlate but they do in the mystery of His leadership. But I
believe the #1 reason for the end-times is for God to bring and end to all Evil. The Judgements are released to destroy the
Kingdom of Darkness and to shatter oppressive systems and to free captives from those systems.

                    1. 2 Thessalonians 1:5-10 which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted
worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer; 6 since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with
tribulation those who trouble you, 7 and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed
from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on
those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction
from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10 when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His
saints and to be admired among all those who believe, F1 because our testimony among you was believed.

          B. The individual and corporate people in the body of Christ are called to walk as Jesus did & to partake in His sufferings.
1 Peter 2:21- For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow
                    His steps:

Rom 8:7 - and if children, then heirs--heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also
                    be glorified together.

Col 1:24 - I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the
sake of His body, which is the church,

Phil. 3:10 – That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to
                    His death.

          C. Our 70 year life in this current age is meant to reflect how Christ walked. Christ lived in hidden communion with Father God for
30 years then was led into the wilderness to be tested, after victory over temptation He preached and signs & wonders followed.
His public ministry lasted 3 years and turned the world upside down forever and ended in the most brutal death a human will ever
experience. Then He was raised in Glory for 40 days. The western church desires the 40 days of glory without going through the
crucifixion process. We must go through the prior hiddeness, testing, & persecution unto the death of self before we really see
glory. This is true for the individual believer and the corporate church (as stated in Col. 1:24)

          D. The Lord knows the weakness of our frame and so He has ordained the end times to take the church through the cross. The great
tribulation for the Church is likened to the Crucifixion of Christ. Just as Jesus was perfected through the suffering of the cross
(Heb 2:10), so will the church be. The Church will & does become glorious through persecution & global crisis. We will see the
full amount of martyrs come forth in the church and we will see a global purification leading the Church into walking in “the
greater works” & becoming the pure & spotless bride (Eph 5:27). Jesus will not come for a lukewarm church He is coming for
                    an equally yoked bride.
Now this, "Yet once more," indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken...that the things which cannot be
shaken may remain. 28 Therefore…let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly
                    fear. (Heb. 12:26-28)

Mal 3:2-3 – But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s
fire and Like Launderers soap. He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver and He will purify the sons of Levi. And
purge them as gold and silver

         E. There will be a Global shaking from Heaven & everything that did not proceed from the Kingdom of God will crumble & fall.
The nature of the leadership of Jesus is to purge away darkness and that which hinders His love with His people and as a jealous
husband He “shakes” the darkness within us & during the shaking we have to opportunity to repent and turn back to Him and
                   become conformed into His image!
3Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin
(Antichrist) is revealed, the son of perdition… (2 Thes. 2:3)

         F. During the great tribulation we will see multitudes in the body of Christ renounce their faith that Jesus is the only way to heaven
and take the mark of the beast willingly and fall away from the faith leading to eternal damnation. They will do this so that they
can partake in the global economic system of buying selling & trade which we will not be able to partake in unless we take the
mark. God is the one that raises up the Anti-Christ and uses Him as a global refining tool to confront the people of the earth and
make them chose what they really believe. This issue will be the bible or the glorification of man

         G. MY TRIBULATION CONCLUSION: The church will walk as Christ walked and just as Christ was not spared the cross either
will the Church be. The Church will go through the great tribulation and become conformed into the image of Christ becoming
                   Pure & Spotless.

         H. Every believer needs to wrestle through the issues of the kingdom. However, Whatever conclusion we come to must produce a
life that lines up with the word of God. The Bible tells us that we must live a life of deep devotion, and we are actually called to
live believing that the end is near. We are called to watch & pray and always be ready. I believe we must be prepared to go
                   through trouble since we
1 pet 4:7 -But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be sober and watchful in your prayers.

                   1. The Lord’s Joel 2 Strategy
1 Blow the trumpet in Zion, And sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; For the day of the Lord is
coming, For it is at hand: A day of darkness and gloominess, A day of clouds and thick darkness, Like the morning clouds spread over
the mountains. A people come, great and strong, The like of whom has never been; Nor will there ever be any such after them, Even for
many successive generations. A fire devours before them, And behind them a flame burns; The land is like the Garden of Eden before
         them, And behind them a desolate wilderness; Surely nothing shall escape them. Their appearance is like the appearance of horses;
And like swift steeds, so they run. With a noise like chariots Over mountaintops they leap, Like the noise of a flaming fire that devours
the stubble, Like a strong people set in battle array. Before them the people writhe in pain; All faces are drained of color. They run like
mighty men, They climb the wall like men of war; Every one marches in formation, And they do not break ranks. They do not push one
another; Every one marches in his own column. Though they lunge between the weapons, They are not cut down. They run to and fro
in the city, They run on the wall; They climb into the houses, They enter at the windows like a thief. The earth quakes before them, The
heavens tremble; The sun and moon grow dark, And the stars diminish their brightness. The Lord gives voice before His army, For His
camp is very great; For strong is the One who executes His word. For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; Who can endure it?
"Now, therefore," says the Lord, "Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning." So rend your
heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And
He relents from doing harm. Who knows if He will turn and relent, And leave a blessing behind Him-- A grain offering and a drink
offering For the Lord your God?
Blow the trumpet in Zion, Consecrate a fast, Call a sacred assembly; 16 Gather the people, Sanctify the ongregation, Assemble the elders, Gather
the children and nursing babes; Let the bridegroom go out from his chamber, And the bride from her dressing room. Let the priests,
who minister to the Lord, Weep between the porch and the altar; Let them say, "Spare Your people, O Lord, And do not give Your
heritage to reproach, That the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, 'Where is their God?' "Then the
Lord will be zealous for His land, And pity His people [Joel 2:1-17]

                   2. This passage was prophesied just before the Babylonian army destroyed Jerusalem. However the prophecy was only
partly fulfilled. The fullness of this passage is fulfilled in the last days. The Lord’s army is the anti-Christ’s army that
God raises up to bring forth global destruction. In the original context is that Israel had sinned greatly and would not
repent so that Lord, being to jealous to allow them to stay in their sin, rose up the Babylonian army to destroy
Jerusalem so that the people would return to Him. This is a type and shadow of the Last days.

                   3. In this passage we clearly see God’s strategy for His people in the time of crisis: So rend your heart, and not your
garments; return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness; and He
relents from doing harm. 14 Who knows if He will turn and relent, And leave a blessing behind Him-- A grain offering
                            and a drink offering For the Lord your God? 15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, Consecrate a fast, Call a sacred assembly;
16 Gather the people, Sanctify the congregation, Assemble the elders, Gather the children and nursing babes; Let the
bridegroom go out from his chamber, And the bride from her dressing room. 17 Let the priests, who minister to the
Lord, Weep between the porch and the altar; Let them say, "Spare Your people, O Lord, And do not give Your heritage
to reproach, That the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, 'Where is their God?'
"Then the Lord will be zealous for His land, And pity His people.

                            a. Rend your hearts and not your garments: In Jewish culture in a time of mourning the people would tear their
garments and throw dirt on their heads as a sign of their heart condition. However, this became a ritual more than
a true heart condition as the years went by. The Lord is telling the people to truly turn and repent for their sins.
He is telling them to tear open their hearts and “pluck the log out of their own eyes (Matthew 7:3)”, to “bear fruit
with their repentance (Matthew 3:8)”, to weep and wail and cry out for mercy (James 4-5).

                            b. Return: All throughout the scripture there is really only one message woven through all the prophetic voices –
Return to the Lord. This is always the Lord’s intention, He always wants reconciliation between Himself and the
people. We know if He is telling His people to return that means that they have left Him; they have stopped
                                 obeying His voice (John 14:15).

                            c. Sacred assembly: This is when the people come together corporately to acknowledge their sin as an entire people,
they do the required things need to sanctify themselves again. We see that this corporate sacred assembly includes
people from all walks of life: young, old, rich, and poor. It also specifically mentions the elders and leaders
coming together to repent publicly (most of the time this is a very difficult thing for people in leadership because
they don’t want to loose their reputation). The summation of this is that normal life in society shuts down and
everyone gathers together to repent. Notice that this is not just individual believers praying in their “prayer
closets” . This is a corporate gathering.

                            d. Prayer: we see that the people with one voice and one heart pray together as a unified group, “spare your people,
O God” this is accompanied by a spirit of mourning. The people don’t just gather together and talk about all the
issues. They don’t gather to try to find a solution. They gather for one reason; they don’t have the answers to the
problem, and only God does. Therefore, they are doing one simple thing they are crying out vocally as a unified
voice to the God of heaven for mercy.
"These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore
they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them. 16
They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; 17 for the Lamb who is in the midst
of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their
         eyes." [Revelation 7:14-17]

                   4. Here again we see the passage showing us the state of the end time church. We know from previous study that this is
the church on the earth going through the great tribulation and they are doing day & night prayer. We see some
interesting aspects describing them in this passage. It describes them as hungry, thirsty, not properly sheltered, and they
are in a state of weeping. This is probably because they are not able to purchase food and drink without the mark of the
beast. They are in a state of sacred assembly in this passage. We see from this verse that the end time church will be
forced into walking out Joel 2 all across the earth.

         B. Principle of corporate agreement: we know from the scripture that when believers gather together into groups there is a greater
dimension of God’s power that can be released into the earth. The reason for this is because the agreement between heaven and
earth increases exponentially when more than one is in agreement.
For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them." [Matthew 18:20]

Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword
                   before you. [Leviticus 26:8]

…they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind,
and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. [Acts 2:1-2]

Awakened Internship Class - End times II – Ryan Corrigan PAGE 8

            1. We must move people into a corporate dimension of prayer to see the fullness of what God has for the body of Christ.
We must be a people that pray and fast together night and day joining our prayers together into one voice before the
throne. This is one of the biggest stumbling blocks in the church right now. The church as a whole doesn’t really like
prayer that much but if they are going to do it , they will go off by themselves and fast and pray in isolation. There is a
dimension to being alone with the Lord and that time is needed. However, if we are going to see the fullness of what
God has we must move into a place of corporate prayer and intercession. The reality is that the individualistic fasting
and prayer is more internally focused and not as much focused on the “big picture”. When we gather corporately our
individual agendas must be thrown out and we have to humble ourselves and pray for things that many times do not
affect us directly (like Israel). The corporate prayer produces a nameless and faceless generation that starts carry a the
burden of the Lord for the major issues of the day rather than just their individual struggles. This truly produces a
people of meekness and humility. (People always have to let their own control issues die when coming into corporate
prayer. Everyone gets to wrestle with the reality that no one is praying exactly like they would, and many, many hidden
pride issues surface as a result of the corporate gathering. Man has to let the Lord be the focus of the meeting rather
than themselves.) So we must move into corporate prayer.

      C. The house of prayer and the sacred assembly: Our nation is in crisis! The church in the west is “asleep” in many ways. The
gospel of Jesus Christ has become more and more watered down through the last 4 decades. It is very rare these days to hear a
true biblical message from the pulpit concerning sin, repentance, the Lordship of Christ, taking up our cross, etc. We are in
desperate need in this hour for God to break in. (also over 50 million babies have been slaughtered in the U.S. in just a matter of
35 years, and as a whole the church as remained totally silent). Therefore, the house of prayer’s mandate is to live a lifestyle of
Joel 2. The house of prayer is ordained by God to be a gathering place where the people can REPENT, RETURN, GATHER and
PRAY night and day until we see the church and the nations of the earth turn fully to Jesus Christ. The house of prayer therefore
is a perpetual sacred assembly heeding God’s strategy in times of trouble found in Joel 2.

      D. Note: The Lord is going to have His way regardless of how it must come forth. He will have a people that are crying out to Him
night and day for the sin in the Land. (remember the prayer principles the Lord must find agreement on the earth through human
beings to release His power into the earth realm). We can voluntarily move into a night and day Joel 2 sacred assembly or we can
wait until the trouble gets so bad that we are forced into it. Either way God will have a people doing Joel 2 night & day. The
house of prayers mandate is to enter into the Joel 2 lifestyle before real trouble come so that God can indeed give mercy to the

            1. Conclusion: God’s strategy for His people in times of crisis is: REPENT, RETURN, GATHER, and PRAY. All of this is
done out of a true broken heart & contrite spirit. The Lord’s strategy in times of trouble is for man to realize that
human strength and intuition cannot save man from the reality of sin. If the smartest people known to man were to
gather together and try to come up with a man made solution to the trouble then disaster would surely come and their
plans would be seen as completely futile. The reality is that God blesses those that are poor in spirit or realize their
utter and total need for Him. Times of trouble are ordained by God to tear down the exaltation of flesh in the mind of
man. Man may be able to come up with some sort of “band aid” solution that may seem to be effective, but the reality
is that it will only prolong the inevitable judgment of sin. Therefore, the one and only strategy in the midst of trouble is
to Repent, Return, Gather, and Pray corporately as a unified church. This is God’s formula for crisis now and until the
end of the age. The house of prayer is committed to living a lifestyle of a Joel 2 perpetual sacred assembly.

Amos 9:11 – On that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, and repair its damages; I will raise up
its ruins and rebuild it as in the days of old.

      A. The Prophet Amos was prophesying around 760bc. This prophecy was given in Israel during a time when Israel was seeing
military and economic gain, however the spiritual state in Israel was terrible. This was given about 200-150 years after David’s
tabernacle had been torn down This prophecy was probably misunderstood because Solomon’s temple was built and established
and David’s tabernacle was left unattended. The tabernacle of David was seen as a temporary setting until Solomon’s temple was
built. This prophecy was obviously about what was going on inside the Tabernacle of David rather than the temporary tent.

Acts 15:16-17 – After this I will return and will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins.
And I will set it up; So that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord. Even the Gentiles who are called by My name, Says the
Lord who does all these things.

Awakened Internship Class - End times II – Ryan Corrigan PAGE 9

                  1. During the Jerusalem Council there was a debate over how the apostles should steward the outbreak of revival that was
happening among the Jews and for the first time among the Gentiles (non-Jewish people). Some were very excited that
the Gentiles were receiving Jesus but others were worried that they would corrupt the purity of the movement. The
elder Apostle James (Jesus’ bother) stands up and quotes Amos 9:11 about the Lord restoring the tabernacle of David so
the Gentiles could also seek the Lord.

                  2. This prophetic utterance doesn’t seem to completely make sense unless we look at the activity of the early church at
                            this time.
And they continued steadfastly in the Apostles doctrine and fellowship in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon every soul,
and many wonders & signs were done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together and had all things in common. And
sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all as everyone had need. So they continued daily with one accord in the
temple, and breaking bread from house of house they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having
favor with all the people, and the Lord added to their group those who were being saved. [Acts 2:42-47]

                  3. The operation of the church at this point was daily corporate prayer meetings accompanied with apostolic teaching in
the restored temple in Jerusalem along with home gatherings and radical giving. All of this was producing signs,
wonders, and power evangelism. The believers were gathering 2-3 times daily for corporate prayer and teaching lead
by the Apostles. They lived lives before the Lord night and day constantly like that of what David had commanded.
Their entire lives were transformed to being a people of one thing like King David.

                  4. However, if we look closely there is no night and day corporate dimension to what they are doing, which was the main
characteristic of David’s tabernacle. So we know that in this prophesy James was declaring that the beginning of the
restoration of David’s tabernacle had begun. But we also know the fullness was by no means accomplished.

                  5. Note: Some think that this prophecy was fulfilled by the ability for each individual believer to now be filled with the
Holy Spirit night and day. However, even through this reality is glorious it is only partial fulfillment to the prophecy.
(We will see this clearly momentarily)
After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and
tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and
crying out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!" All the angels
stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped
God, saying: "Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, Thanksgiving and honor and power and might, Be to our God forever
and ever. Amen. ”Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, "Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they
come from?" And I said to him, "Sir, you know." So he said to me, "These are the ones who come out of the great
tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore they are before the throne of
God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them. [Revelation 7:9-15]

                  6. Who come out of the great tribulation. This word come is: Erchomai, which is only used in the present and imperfect
tenses. In the greek language these tenses mean progressive or continuous. This means that this coming out…it is not
a past event it is either happening right in front of John’s eyes or they are in the process of coming out. Both would
indicate that they have not completed the task of coming out yet. Meaning that this group that John saw was most
likely still on the earth during the end of the age and Jesus has not come back yet.

                  7. Therefore they are before the throne…..Every major bible translation has translated this part the verse the same: they
are… this implies that the saints in the verse are doing that very act at that very moment. This is not a future event,
they are before the throne of God night & day. This is what they are doing at the very time John sees them.

                  8. One who sits on the throne will dwell among them…..Again all the major translations of scripture agree that this
statement it a future event that has not happened yet. This tells us that God does not yet dwell among them in fullness,
but that the day is yet coming. Jesus has not come back yet, but He will surely dwell among them.

                  9. How can the church be in the process of being brought out of the great tribulation still on the earth, but be before the
very throne of God night & day but not have God dwelling among them? Simple. The last days Church is functioning
day & night like the Tabernacle of David on the earth. They are corporately caught up and standing before the throne of
God in prayer and worship. And they are waiting for the glorious day when Christ Himself will dwell among them
sitting on his throne in the tabernacle of David.

Awakened Internship Class - End times II – Ryan Corrigan PAGE 10

                  10. Here we see the end time church as the pure and spotless bride (Ephesians 5:27). This is the churches most glorious
hour. We see a whole company of people that are corporately ascending into the heavens in worship in the spirit, but
on the earth they are in the temple night & day. This is the end time church that no one in heaven could number that
comes out of the great tribulation. Clearly this is not a weak group of people that have been “left behind”. This shows
us that the end time church will fully functioning like just like the Tabernacle of David.
Isaiah 16:5 – In mercy a throne will be established; And one will sit on it in truth, in the tabernacle of David, judging and
                  seeking justice and hastening righteousness.

                  11. After Jesus comes back He will establish His government in Jerusalem (Isaiah Ch. 2) with His very throne right in the
midst of night & day worship surrounding Himself. He will govern the nations from a night & day worship center that
Isaiah calls this the tabernacle of David.

                  12. If Jesus is going to come back again in a literal and physical sense and set up His throne on the earth in Jerusalem like
in Isaiah 2. Then the Tabernacle of David is not just the individual believer filled with the Holy Spirit night & day.
This means that there will be a real geographic place where Jesus will have a tangible throne in the city of Jerusalem in
the context of day & night worship to Him just like in heaven.

         B. Conclusion: The Lord is going to re-establish day & night worship is the spirit of the tabernacle of David. God is going to raise
up a people that gather corporately fast and pray with a desire for one thing to gaze on his beauty all their days. All of this is for
the purpose of all the nations being able to seek after the man Christ Jesus so that ultimately He can come back and rule in
Jerusalem inside the context of day & night prayer.

         A. When this prophetic utterance is given in the book of acts, it is given in the context of the very first gentile salvation.
At Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion of what was known as the Italian Cohort, devout man who feared God with all his
household, gave alms generously to the people, and prayed continually to God. About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a
vision an angel of God come in and say to him, “Cornelius.” 4And he stared at him in terror and said, “What is it, Lord?” And he said
to him, “Your prayers and your alms have ascended as a memorial before God. And now send men to Joppa and bring one Simon who
         is called Peter. [Acts 10:2-5]

                  1. Cornelius was a gentile that was serving the God of Israel and he was living a lifestyle of prayer. He prayed to God
continually. This life of prayer actually has become a memorial before the throne of God and his hunger for God along
with his lifestyle releases an angel of the Lord to give Him the key to eternal life – a message of salvation from a man
named Peter. Peter also has a visitation (Acts 10:19-20) about Cornelius and he goes to them, speaks, the Holy Spirit is
poured out, they speak in tongues, and are all saved.

                  2. This whole string of supernatural events was started because there was a gentile that was living a lifestyle of prayer in
the spirit of the tabernacle of David. This lifestyle of prayer was actually fixed as a memorial before the very throne of
God, which ended up to be the very first salvation of gentiles.

                  3. We’ve already shown that the church will be functioning in night and day prayer in the spirit of the tabernacle of David.
But the whole purpose for the rebuilding is so that the Gentiles can seek the Lord and be saved. Thus we can conclude
that this rebuilding of night & day worship is not just so that the church can be away with the Lord and forget the
world, but so that the world can encounter the Lord just like Cornelius did.

Isaiah 56:7 – My House shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.

                  4. We see another characteristic of the Lord’s church at the end of the age. Isaiah is prophesying that the church at the
end of the age would be a people that would be defined, at the core, as a people who intercede for all the nations. This
is a definition from heaven’s perspective not ours. We know that it refers to the end time church because the Christian
church as a whole has never functioned under a real corporate spirit of prayer for all the nations in the history of its
existence. Therefore, this prophecy has not yet been totally fulfilled.

                                                        Zadok House of Prayer
Awakened Internship Class - End times II – Ryan Corrigan PAGE 11

                    5. When Jesus returns for His bride the church will surely be functioning in the fullness of being a house of prayer. This
is not just a name, but a whole company of people corporately carrying the burden to pray for the nations. This means
that when Jesus comes back for His church, and when heaven looks down and at the very core of every believer, they
will be more than anything else a people who pray. It doesn’t say house of evangelism, house of teaching, house of
music, house of missions or any other house. It is defined at the core, with all the core values being rapped around,
being a house of people that pray.

          B. At the end of the age the Lord has ordained the church to be a people that more than anything else are a people of prayer. We
know that the Lord has people pray for nations because he wants the nations as His inheritance. He wants to reveal Himself to
every tribe tongue and nation and He will give the message of salvation to every nation before He comes back (Matthew 24:14).
Remember that Prayer that agrees with Heaven releases God’s power along with angels into the earth for the purpose of revealing
Jesus to all those that the prayer is pointed towards.

Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will (are about to) inherit salvation? [Hebrews 1:14]

Who makes His angels spirits; His ministers a flaming fire. [Psalm 104:4]

The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers or harvesters are the angels. [Matthew 13:39]

                    1. At the end of the age the harvesters or those that bringing the lost into the kingdom are not people they are angels! In
fact no man can ever bring a man into the kingdom of God it is impossible (Matthew 19:26) This is shocking to us that
we would not get to be the main event in the last days “saving” everyone we see. Jesus is the only savior and all we
can do it lead men to Him. We know that from previous study that when prayers go up angels & the power of God
come down. We know that when angels show up people are touched with revelation knowledge of Jesus Christ and
many times get saved (i.e. Acts 8:26-40, ch.10)

                    2. The scriptures show us that most of the time the angel of the Lord is not the one who actually shares the gospel with the
lost person. The angel of the Lord is usually telling a missionary or evangelist what to say or where to go. We also
know that when the angels show up then the power of God is released into a situation. We also know that the gospel
cannot be just in word only but it has to be in power to save the lost.
Because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. [I Thessalonians 1:5]

                    3. So the reality is that messengers of the gospel of Jesus Christ must have the power of God with them when they share
the gospel. Angels bring the power of God so we must get the angel of the Lord into the earth realm, and the only way
to do this is through prayer (this includes all sorts or prayer – prophetic decrees, intercession, supplication, etc).
Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door (portal)
for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prisoner that I may make it manifest (experiential
encounter), which is how I ought to speak. [Colossians 4:2-4]

                    4. Remember this: When we persevere in steadfast prayer a literal portal is opened in a specific place allowing access into
heaven. When we stand in that portal and speak, our words release a full manifestation of Christ into the earth realm
allowing those witnessing to experience a revelation of the nature and character of Christ not just in knowledge but also
in an experiential encounter of the man Christ Jesus Himself. In that moment that which is hidden and unknown to the
hearer suddenly becomes fully known and experienced.

                    5. God’s primary strategy to save souls at the end of the age is not primarily missions it is the re-establishment of night &
day prayer in the spirit of the Tabernacle of David.
“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his
        harvest.”." [Matthew 9:37-38]

                    6. Notice that this verse DOES NOT say therefore GO, it says therefore PRAY. This gives us more insight that God’s
primary strategy for global harvest is prayer. Many people feel a “call” on their lives and just automatically assume
that means they need to go straight into the harvest field. However, we know that when we feel the “tug” on our hearts
for the nations we must first become intercessors in the spirit for those nations. Then when and if we are to go, then
God will truly give us a commissioning to go. If we go to the harvest field with no real prayer lives we will end up
burning out from a lack of communion with the Holy Spirit. The Lord must establish the saints in lives of prayer and
intimacy so that they can handle the rigors of the field. Pray for God to send laborers to the nations first, then the Lord
may send you as a laborer, when and if you are truly called to go. Everyone is called to pray this prayer but not
                              everyone is called to go.

                                                         Zadok House of Prayer

                            a. Important Note! Over the past few centuries the church as a whole has mixed up the first and second
commandments. The majority of the church has pushed evangelism and missions (2nd commandment) so hard and
they have completely ignored prayer (1st commandment). This reality has focused the body of Christ more on
people than on Christ. This has literally produced an idol unto man that needs to be torn down. Anything that we
exalt above Christ becomes an idol. If we give all out attention to man even if our intensions are to lead them to
Christ we are still fixing our eyes mostly on man and not on Christ. When we exalt man above God in our hearts
we are becoming nothing more than a club of “do-gooders” (the world has plenty of these organizations, the
church is not supposed to be one). When this happens we actually fall into humanism, which is a whole belief
structure that the end of all things is to serve man and make him happy, when in God’s kingdom the end of all
things is to give Christ the glory He deserves. I am sorry to say that much of the church has forsaken Christianity
and adopted humanism as its primary way of thinking (again this happens when we get the first two
commandments mixed up). We must get the body of Christ re-aligned by restoring the 1st commandment to 1st
place in the lives of believers. We know that this is done by living lives of prayer (communion with God) and
devotion as our 1st priority in life and ministering to people as an outflow of the 1st commandment.

                            b. Historical note: In the last few years (1990’s-2008) some of the largest missions organizations have already begun
to understand these principles One of the biggest missions organizations Youth With A Mission has teamed up
with IHOP-KC to make sure that every single mission they do is saturated in night & day prayer, and many of the
YWAM leaders and missionaries come off the field and spend time in the house of prayer. YWAM has also set up
new priorities to set up day and night prayer & worship on the mission field in the midst of their projects as part of
                                 their evangelism strategy.

And there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived with her husband
seven years from when she was a virgin, and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshiping
with fasting and prayer night and day. And coming up at that very hour she began to give thanks to God and to speak of him (Christ) to
all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem. [Luke 2:36-38]

                   1. Anna the prophetess is a model of a new testament believer who was living out the Tabernacle of David lifestyle so
that all mankind could seek the Lord.

                            a. She did not depart from the Temple – We can see that this woman prayed full time night and day for over 50 years.
She truly was a woman that kept the 1st commandment 1st in her life. She loved God so much that she found a
way to spend time with Him full time for over half a century.

                            b. Worship, fasting, prayer and a life of purity – Anna lived a life that goes along with King David’s Psalm about
who could dwell in the Tabernacle He set up.

A Psalm of David. Lord, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill? 2 He who walks
uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart; 3 He who does not backbite with his
tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend; 4 In whose eyes a vile
person is despised, But he honors those who fear the Lord; He who swears to his own hurt and does not
change; 5 He who does not put out his money at usury, Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. He who
does these things shall never be moved. [Psalms 15:1-5]

                            c. Evangelist: Anna spoke of the redemption of Jerusalem to all….The redemption of Jerusalem is what the promised
messiah would bring. Anna knew that Jesus was the Messiah and then she went throughout all of Jerusalem
speaking about Him. She is the first recorded new testament evangelist talking about Christ.

                   2. Anna spent over 50 years in the place of prayer and worship and when the Messiah came she knew it was Him because
she could spiritually discern the anointing on the young child’s life. She was called a prophetess. There were many
Pharisees that probably knew the scripture much better than she did, but they missed their own messiah even thought
they were indeed looking for Him. Anna shows us that it was wisdom for her to spend all those years in full time
prayer. If she hadn’t cultivated a heart of prayer she probably would have missed the messiah like most of her nation
did. I am sure that she was ridiculed by many who probably told her to get a job; do something with your life; get
remarried; have children; raise a family. However, Anna endured in the place of prayer for over 50 years and she
recognized her Messiah and then began to trumpet to the nation that He was here.

                   3. God obviously raised up Anna for a specific reason right in time that Jesus was growing up as a boy. The Lord
established Anna to be in the temple fasting and praying, at the same time John the Baptist and Jesus were growing up.
We can conclude that from the prayer principles that God ordained her up to prepare the spiritual atmosphere over an
entire nation to be able to receive the word of the Lord from John and Jesus through night and day prayer & fasting.
We know from the parable of the sower that if the word of God isn’t thrown into fertile soil in the heart then it will not
grow up into a true harvest. Anna’s prayers were literally tilling the hearts of all of Israel to be able to receive the
message of the Kingdom that was about come forth through John the Baptist and Jesus. Just as John was the forerunner
for Jesus so Anna was a true forerunner preparing the way in the spirit for Israel.

                   4. Conclusion: The life of Anna is a model for the new testament believer showing us a lifestyle of night & day prayer,
fasting & radical purity. She lived a life of intercession, which prepared the spiritual climate of the hearts of her
people to receive the messiah. We see that this lifestyle that she chose put her into such intimacy with the Lord that she
began to prophecy and see the things of heaven. This enabled her to know the Messiah when He came and then she
effectively declared the word of the Lord to her nation that Jesus Christ was indeed their Messiah. Anna is a picture of
someone who lives a life in the house of prayer full time and also goes out into the streets to declare the word of the
Lord with a spirit of prophecy. She shows us the biblical way of how to balance a life of prayer and worship with
evangelism. She shows us how to truly keep the 1st and 2nd commandments in proper order. We see that she wasn’t
trying to go out and share the gospel in her own strength but she waited until she truly had the word of the Lord for her
generation and then she boldly went out to proclaim it. Anna is the perfect balance between those that say we must
only wait and pray and those that only want to step out in faith knowing that the kingdom is within us.

         D. The Upper Room
And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on
        high.” [Luke 24:49]

                   1. Here Jesus is telling His disciples to go and wait in Jerusalem for the promised Holy Spirit that will empower them.
Interestingly, right before this command Jesus gives the disciples the “great commission” to go and preach the gospel
to all the nations (Luke 24:24-48). So the last thing Jesus told the disciples was not to “go” and preach but to “go” and
wait for the promised Holy Spirit.
Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day's journey away. 3And when they had
entered, they went up to the upper room, where they were staying, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas,
Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot and Judas the son of James. All these with one accord
were devoting themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers. (the company of persons
was in all about 120) [Acts 1:12-15]

                   2. According to 1 Corinthians 15:6 Jesus spoke to 500 people to go and wait for the promised Holy Spirit. But we know
that only 120 actually obeyed Him and went to wait for the Holy Spirit. You can just imagine many of the followers
maybe starting in the upper room but thinking ,”Well He did tell us to go and preach, so lets go.” Can you imagine the
other 380 people deciding not to wait until Pentecost in the upper room. Can you imagine them out trying to do the
“Lord’s work” in their own strength and missing the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

                   3. Jesus gives the disciples the “great commission” but then tells them that He is going to give them the power from on
high to complete it. You can almost hear the disciples when Jesus tells them to go to every nation…. “What? you want
us to do what, go where, baptize them how?” Jesus knowing the weakness of the human frame tells them, “don’t worry
guys you are not going to have to do this in your own strength, I am going to empower you to walk this thing
out… go and wait for it.” What a relief it must have been for them.
when the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing
wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of
them. 4And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance………..
[Acts 2:1-4]

………..Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”
37Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
38And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and
you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone
whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” 40And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save
yourselves from this crooked generation.” 41So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three
      thousand souls. [Acts 2:36-41]

                                                       Zadok House of Prayer
Awakened Internship Class - End times II – Ryan Corrigan PAGE 14

                  4. Here we see the event of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. We see the 120 getting filled with the Holy Spirit. We also
know the amazing sign of tongues that happened that day when all the people in Jerusalem heard the gospel in their
own native dialect. We then see the Apostle Peter stand up and give an incredible sermon (Joel 2); we see the people
being cut to the heart and repenting for their sin and 3000 people get saved.

                  5. The greek word here for cut is katanusso which means: to pierce completely, to violently agitate; and it noteworthy to
say that this is a more severe word for piercing then when Jesus was pierced in the side which forced the blood and
water to flow from Him. Katanusso means total penetration.

         E. Conclusion: Jesus last commandment before His ascension was to wait for the Holy Spirit to endue the disciples with power from
on High so that they could be witnesses of Him to the nations. This meant He was going to empower the disciples so that they
could fulfill the great commission. We already know that just human words cannot cut to the heart like Peter’s words did that day
when 3000 people were saved. We know that the power of the Holy Spirit met His weak human words and drove them deep into
the hearts with the power of God.

         F. Application for today: We have an invitation from the Lord to walk in the fullness of the Holy Spirit like Peter did on the day he
preached with such power. Acts 2:38-39 says: ….Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your
children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself. We can be a saved, born again and even
“baptized in the Holy Spirit” and still not be endued with power on high to be a witness of Christ. Jesus wants to empower His
church to walk out the “great commission”, He didn’t tell the disciples to go without any power, and he doesn’t want us to “go”
with no power. What this means is that there is an open invitation from the Lord that if we will tarry in prayer then we will also
be endued with power. The question is will we spend the time to tarry, or will we leave the “upper room” to early and “go”
without power to cut men to the heart.

                  1. The house of prayer has a mandate to raise up messengers of the gospel like the early apostles who will carry the word
of God with power. They will be ones that tarry in the place of prayer for as long as it takes to walk in the fullness of
the Holy Spirit and then be slung into the harvest field with an enduement of power to cut men to the heart so that
salvation can be brought to all the nations. This is why the house of prayer also refers to themselves as a missions base.
It is designed to be a home base for those called to the mission field so that they can spend time tarrying in prayer for
their nations, while making sure that they stay before the Lord in a 1st commandment lifestyle.

         G. Conclusion: The mandate for the House of Prayer is to minister to God 1st while contending for all the nations of the earth to
come to the knowledge of Christ though the widespread revelation produced by day and night prayer. The House of prayer is
committed to raising up those like Anna that pray day & night and live a lifestyle of prophetic evangelism. The House of prayer
is committed to tarrying in prayer believing that we will see the restoration of apostolic power in the church so that the great
commission can be effectively accomplished. The house of prayer is also very committed to sending those that are truly being sent
by God. The house of prayer is committed to teaming up with missions organizations from around the globe to make sure that the
missionaries are saturated in prayer just as Paul commanded in Colossians 4:2-4. . This truly is the biblical way to position
ourselves to fulfill the great commission in our generation.

                  1. Note: There is a tension in the body of Christ right now between “going” and “tarrying”. Luke 17:21 tells us: the
kingdom of God is in within you. This tells us that we do have the very spirit of the Lord dwelling in us through faith in
Christ right now. People that really have faith in this principle are usually the people that really want to go into the
field by faith believing that God is going to go with them everywhere they go. This is an awesome revelation and we
must have this understanding. We must spend a massive amount of time meditating on this element so that we can
walk in faith knowing that Christ is already in us. If we really have this understanding then the trip to the grocery store
can turn into an opportunity to heal the sick, to prophecy life to the dead soul ect. Here is where it goes back to
“tarrying”. The very way that we increase our faith in the indwelling Christ is by hearing God’s voice (Rom 10:17).
How do we practically hear God’s voice? We listen. How do we listen? We spend time in prayer. We have to cultivate
intimacy to hear His voice. Also, we see the early church in a season of aggressive evangelism in the streets and they
                            pray corporately before they go.
Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, while you stretch out your hand to
heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” And when they had prayed, the place in
which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God
         with boldness. [Acts 4:29-31]

                                                      Zadok House of Prayer
Awakened Internship Class - End times II – Ryan Corrigan PAGE 15

            2. They realize that they need the power that has been resting upon them to “continue”. This means they must have
realized that the power of the Holy Spirit wasn’t moving the same way it did at Pentecost. They must of seen a need to
cry out in prayer for “more”. We see that even though the kingdom was within them, they still needed to cry out to the
Lord for the boldness of the kingdom to continue to move through them. Could you imagine what the church would
have become if they would have been filled with the Holy Spirit once and then gone out never having to ask God for
more? They would have so quickly forgotten their total dependency upon Christ, and they would have fallen into pride.

            3. We also see that they are filled with the Holy Spirit again. This tells us that they not only had Christ dwelling in their
hearts but they could get re-filled with the Holy Spirit time and time again. We see that it was after they prayed that
they were filled with the emboldening power of the Holy Spirit. Eph. 5:18 tells us to be filled with the Holy Spirit this
implies that we must continually be getting filled over and over again with the Holy Spirit. It is not a one time thing, it
is a daily thing, and we see that it happens through prayer.

            4. Conclusion: The kingdom does dwell in us and we do have the power of God dwelling in our inner man. However, we
know that to maintain a high level of emboldening faith in this reality we must be filled with the Holy Spirit. We see
that the apostles receive the Holy Spirit again after a corporate prayer meeting. To re-itterate, we must step out in faith
knowing God is with us but we cannot lessen the priority of corporate prayer as a result. We must make corporate
prayer our main strategy for reaching the lost.
