The question often comes up. When are fire protection systems such as
automatic sprinklers, fire alarms, and other fire protection systems required? This
7 hour course helps building and fire inspectors identify when and what type fire
protection systems are required by the International Building Code (IBC) and the
International Fire Code (IFC). Automatic fire sprinklers, fire alarms, standpipes,
and smoke control systems are some of the items covered in this course. A look
into the fire protection system systems and fire separation requirements in multi-
family units is also covered.
Reference materials: 2009 International Building Code (IBC), 2009 International
Fire Code (IFC), and the 2009 International Residential Code (IRC).
