A brief account on environmental monitoring
 The level of business activities has grown tremendously which has created a certain
negative impact on the environment in the form of pollution and environmental
degradation. To do the business in future times, there is a need to indulge in a system
which can provide a mitigation strategy to overcome the growing problems related to the
environment caused due to business activities. The name given to this system is the
environmental monitoring. This system makes use of certain environmental
instruments to monitor the characteristics as well as the quality of the environment.
These programs are developed based on certain programs and strategies which are based
on reasoning and judgement. Let's have a detailed study about the various aspects of the
  environmental monitoring:-

 What is the aim of this program?
 The underlying objective of the program for monitoring the environment is to show the
world at large the short term as well the long term health condition of the ecosystem of
the plant where we all live. The condition as well as the amount of the natural resources
available on the planet is also assessed under this program.
 The environmental instruments used in this monitoring program also provide aid to
the lawmakers when they frame policies related to environmental planning. All the
policies which assist in the restoration of the ecosystem are developed after doing a
number of environmental exercises under this program.

 What are the different types of environmental monitoring?
 The program for monitoring the environment includes the process of monitoring the
quality of air, water and soil in particular vicinity.

 Air monitoring

 Air pollution has been there for quite a long time. The emissions from the vehicles, power
plants and vehicles have caused the degradation of the environment in the form of
degrading the quality of the air. Apart from these, natural factors such as wildfires, dust
storms and volcanoes also contribute to the levels of air pollution. Under the air
monitoring, the pollutants present in the air are classified as well as monitored.
Scientists look for better ways for controlling the toxic pollutants in the environment.
 Water monitoring
 Under the program for monitoring water, the quality of water levels present in the lakes,
streams, rivers, reservoirs, seas and oceans are monitored and efforts for the preservation
of the same is made. The samples of the water are collected to keep a tab on the changing
trends in the water properties, identifying the problem and deciding on the programs to
  curb the levels of pollution.

 Soil monitoring
 The soil monitoring is done to apprise the population about the sustainability of the
ecosystem. Under this program, the environmental instruments first ascertain the
characteristics of the soil and moisture available in the land, and then postulate the
means for controlling soil erosion and ways for enhancing the crop yield.
