Call for papers for Computer Text and Children Workshop
Workshop date: 15th November 2007 Venue: University of Central Lancashire, Preston, England The Child Computer Interaction (ChiCI) group is running two-day ChiCI Annual Research Symposium (CARS 2007), aiming to gather researchers in the field to discuss and develop the latest ideas and concepts in Child Computer Interaction. This workshop is first of two, one-day workshops organised. The workshop focuses on input and manipulation of text into PC-based application by children of varying age and input devices. Work that addresses any aspect of text input & manipulation with children will be considered, but we particularly welcome contributions that address the following themes: Measuring performance of children on text input devices Studies on how children manipulate text New text input devices Innovative use of input device in software Enhancing children’s learning by text input devices In particular we are looking for work-in-progress papers on the following devices: Keyboards Keypads (not mobile phones) Digital Pens Stylus input in mobile devices Pen input in tablet PCs Papers submissions should be between three and four pages, in the workshop format as detailed at FNG2006 Guidelines for Authors (Microsoft Word .Doc). Papers should contain the full name and affiliations of all authors and should be submitted as a pdf.
