Directed IT planning and operations for a $500M pharmaceutical sales and marketing company, Ventiv
Commercial Services, and a $250M Clinical Research Organization, inVentiv Clinical Solutions.
Managed 8 reports and 80 associates in 10 locations across 3 countries with a $10M operating budget.

   Application performance was improved by 200%. All client deliverables were produced on
    time over the last 12 months: Captured performance statistics and determined target areas for
    improvement. Collaborated with user community to determine critical performance requirements.
    Re-architected the processing environment to eliminate performance bottlenecks.

   Over a 6 month period, system availability was improved from 83.3% to 99.99%. Customer
    satisfaction as rated by surveys improved from less than 60% to over 90% in a 6 month period:
    Instituted a rigorous change management process to ensure all changes to the environment were
    properly and thoroughly vetted. Replaced underperforming, poorly matched staff members with
    system experts. Redesigned infrastructure to include system redundancy and high availability.

   Improved cash flow by launching an internal web site giving the billing department real time access
    to summary operational data (rather than having to wait for month end reporting): Eliminated

    Identified critical skill sets required for top flight technical support. Built compelling ROI case for
    internal support. Engaged internal recruiting engine to staff positions: Recruited and hired
    requisite technical staff in less than 4 months. Replaced outsourced provider with internal
    staff, saving $100K annually. Improved defect resolution time by 3 days.

   Achieved a 33% reduction in annual maintenance for storage services: Created project
    appropriation request, charter, and project plan for infrastructure upgrades to address standardization
    of SAN and backup and recovery services. Established standard infrastructure components and
    negotiated multi-year purchase agreements with infrastructure vendors.

   Acquired companies were operating independent data centers. Planned and executed application
    migrations to a centralized environment. Exploited remote access technologies such as Citrix to
    minimize WAN costs and maximize performance: Reduced WAN costs by $100K annually.
    Eliminated 3 data centers and corresponding facilities fees. Reduced administration costs by
    10%. Improved application availability by 10-20%.

   Purchased and installed standard LAN products in all remote offices. Security suites were upgraded
    and standardized. Monitoring tools were extended to include remote locations: Eliminated local
    outages due to LAN issues and malware. Reduced power related outages by 75%. Reduced
    costs by eliminating one-off programs.

   Integration of an acquired company’s email was a protracted process creating brand confusion.
    Acquired specialized technology to simplify integration processes: Reduced integration from 60

    VMware based virtualization project to address both aging hardware reliability and rising
