Gina Merritt Announces American Board of
Internal Medicine Certifications
Gina Merritt, DO, is proud to announce several certifications with the American Board of
Internal Medicine.

Gina Merritt, DO, is proud to announce several certifications with the American Board of
Internal Medicine (ABIM). Dr. Merritt currently practices at Middlesex Multi Specialty Group at
80 South Main Street in Middletown, Connecticut, where she specializes in pulmonary
medicine and critical care medicine.

As Merritt seeks further credentials and professional associations to improve her technical
skills and professional networks, she is pleased to announce that she has achieved great
success with the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Gina Merritt holds four
certifications from the ABIM, including a general certification, and certifications in the following
subspecialties: pulmonary disease medicine, critical care medicine, and sleep medicine.

For Gina Merritt, obtaining the certifications was no easy task. However, she does consider it
to be well worth the years of effort. Although it was hard work and took a great deal of time,
Gina Merritt knew that, for someone in her position, an ABIM certification would be entirely
essential.

Many professionals in the medical industry believe, like Merritt, that ABIM certification is
almost essential in order to be the most effective medical professional possible. The Board,
which has existed for over seventy-five years, has certified more than 200,000 physicians who
are currently practicing. These 200,000 physicians represent roughly 25% of the total
practicing physicians in the United States.

Many doctors – like Gina Merritt – also pursue further certification beyond the standard
American Board of Internal Medicine certification. Gina Merritt believes that the subspecialty
certifications have given her confidence, knowledge, and professional contacts that she could
not have gained through medical school alone. When you’re in medical school, you only have
so much time to pursue all of the different areas of medicine that interest you. ABIM is great
for those medical professionals who want to continue furthering their education outside of
school. Gina Merritt would highly recommend that others do the same.

Gina Merritt welcomes questions and comments about her various certifications from the
American Board of Internal Medicine. She may be reached for further information at 80 South
Main Street, Middletown, CT, 06457
