Introducing: The NUVELLO brand of Contemporary Furniture
Antigua Furniture will unveil its “NUVELLO” brand of contemporary case
goods during the High Point Market. The new collections blend modern
design and colorful finishes with the hand-craftsmanship that Antigua is
famous for. NUVELLO will also highlight its ability to manufacture
custom-made & one-of-a-kind pieces to exact client specifications.
Scott Bogart, President of Antigua Furniture remarked,
“The NUVELLO brand represents a major evolution for Antigua as we
expand our reach into the rapidly growing contemporary market. By
bringing our premium quality story to the contemporary arena, we are
giving our interior design clients yet another tool to satisfy the evolving
tastes of their high-end clientele.”
NUVELLO will be on display at Antigua Furniture in IHFC’s InterHall,
Dark Ivy, Celadon & Gilden Linen among a host of new finish offerings from
Antigua that span the color spectrum.
In response to interest from design clients, Antigua has developed an
impressive new family of painted finishes. With colors ranging from Ivory
to Bronzette and from Chive to Dark Ivy, Antigua has sought out tonalities
that are bold, yet easy on the eye.
Richard Mueller, Chief Designer and a founding partner of Antigua
Furniture undertook the task of developing the entire collection of painted
finishes from scratch. Says Mueller,
“We invested a lot of time, effort and money to get this right. First, we
brought in one of the most renowned color experts in the industry to help us
get ahead of the fashion curve. That was a smart move as the colors we
came up with are fresh and put us on the cutting edge.”
That proved to be the easy part as Antigua subsequently had to develop and
implement the new materials and hand-applied processes into its
manufacturing operations while making sure the finished product lived up
to Antigua’s exacting quality standards.
“Fortunately,” says Mueller, “it all worked out and the early responses that
we have gotten from clients have been enthusiastic. Everyone is excited
about adding lots of color options to the overall Antigua story.”
The new finish options will be on display at Antigua’s booth in IHFC’s
InterHall, Space #IH505.
Antigua Introduces the STACI LEVENSON Collection
Antigua Furniture is pleased to introduce The Staci Levenson Collection of
home furnishings during the Fall Market in High Point, NC. The collection
consists of 6 original pieces, each has been meticulously designed by Staci
Levenson, a furniture designer and ASID member from Austin, Texas. The
collaboration came about through Antigua’s patronage of the ASID
Foundation during March’s ASID Interiors show in New Orleans. At that
gathering, Ms. Levenson seized upon a unique opportunity to have Antigua
hand-craft her designs with the uncompromising quality that Antigua has
become known for.
Levenson sums up her approach to design thus,
“I usually opt for eclectic pairings, like combining a heavy wooden base with
a more feminine marble top, for instance. I might take an antique piece and
then modernize certain elements of it by cleaning up the lines and adding a
contemporary finish that suits it well. Much of this collection began that
way and I am very pleased with the results.”
The Levenson Collection, on display at the Antigua booth in High Point,
begins with a striking, hand-carved wooden bed, graduates to a series of
creatively designed occasional tables and finishes with an elegant wrap-
around upholstered chair. Each of the pieces has a character all its own
while still maintaining a nice balance as an

“We are extremely pleased at how well the
entire Levenson Collection turned out. Working
with Staci was great as she is a very driven
person who clearly shares our passion for
creating beautiful, innovative furniture pieces.
We also want to thank the ASID Foundation, its
staff and members for their support of this
worthy project. We are looking forward to our

its Commitment to
Antigua expands its commitment to sustainability via continued
reforestation efforts, sponsorship, SFC Membership and the development of
an innovative new “eco-friendly” wood finish.
New Eco-Friendly Finish: During the High Point Fall Market, Antigua
Furniture will unveil a new eco-friendly, zero-emissions finish made of
natural oils and waxes. The piece on display falls under Antigua’s
NUVELLO brand and is named the “Ecoture Dining Table.” The new finish
(named “Natural”) will be available on all pieces from Antigua. Additional
eco-friendly finishes are currently under development by Antigua as part of
the company’s commitment to sustainability.
Reforestation Update: Antigua has continued its reforestation efforts by
working in conjunction with rural indigenous communities in Guatemala’s
rural highlands. The most recent project was undertaken in September
when Bill Miller, a founding partner of Antigua Furniture and head of
Sustainability Initiatives, planted another 3,000 trees in Chupol,
Chichicastenango. The project was undertaken in collaboration with a
group of 30 families of subsistent farmers who were seeking funds and on-
site assistance to bring the project to fruition. Antigua stepped up once
again to make this initiative a reality.
Antigua joins the Sustainable Furnishings Council: Antigua is pleased
to announce its membership in the SFC.
“As a company that has long been involved in reforestation, sustainability
and rural development, this was a natural step for us” says Antigua
partner, Rex Murphy. “As a company that is committed to improving the
industry’s impact on our environment, we are excited about the myriad of
new eco-friendly products that we will be rolling out in coming years. We
also proud to be a part of such an exciting initiative as the SFC.”
During this October’s High Point Market, Antigua will also be a proud
sponsor the Educational Efforts of the Sustainable Furnishings Council.
Antigua Furniture’s new eco-friendly finish can be found in IHFC’s
InterHall during the Fall Market this October.

wood product offerings during the High Point Market this
Antigua Furniture, known for its uncompromising, hand-

hardwood doors to its expanding line of products. Antigua

this is just the tip of the iceberg. Dozens of other stock
designs are available. That said, Antigua’s focus is on high-end
custom doors. While Antigua has long manufactured solid wood
doors for hospitality applications, it has only recently decided to make these
available to their high-end, interior design clientele as well. Antigua’s
unique ability to combine precision machine milling with hand-crafted
carving and finishes makes it a stand-out supplier for the architectural
market. Milling capabilities also extend to moldings, cabinetry, stair parts
and one-of-a-kind creations.
