Ukrainian artists Anatoly Belov, Alevtina Kakhidze, Yaroslava Maria Khomenko, Vladimir Kuznetsov,
Stas Volyazlovsky, TanzLaboratorium group.
Artists explore key motif which forms connections between people and is an alternative to the
authority of power or economic capital. This motif is the phenomenon of love in different unexpected
artistic forms.

3. Ukrainian crew’s sea journeys filmed by French artist Marie Reinert
French artist Marie Reinert is an expert in infiltration. She erects sandcastles in building sites and
breaks into corporate headquarters to derail the machine. Curated by Florence Ostende (Dallas
Contemporary), Reinert's first solo exhibition in Ukraine is part of the Special Projects section of ART
KYIV contemporary 2011.
Marie Reinert's new site specific project for the Mystetskyi Arsenal is the result of her research on the
industrial context of Kyiv in dialogue with the screening of her latest film Roll On, Roll Off (2010). Over
the course of more than a year-and-a-half, Marie Reinert went to Marseilles to film a Ukrainian crew’s
sea journeys on a boat belonging to the shipping company Marfret. ‘I didn’t want to show the sailors as
we expect them to be at work’, she says. ‘I was more interested in these fragmented bodies inside the
boat. There are no outside shots. In Roll-On, Roll-Off, you get into the machine, into the unit. It’s a
piece in praise of the motor!’

4. Ukrainian project
The curator of Mystetskyi Arsenal Oleksandr Soloviov presents the special project “Back entrance to
the museum” by prominent artist Ilya Chichkan in collaboration with young graffiti artist PSYFOX. This
project is a unique exploration of the boundaries of contemporary exhibition space. It raises the
question of the specificity of various media and artistic practices and allows to reweal this collage
dialog in extra expressive, dynamic form.
