GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIPS Graduate Program in Environmental Science ASSISTANTSHIP APPLICATION PROCEDURES FOR CURRENT AND PROSPECTIVE GPES STUDENTS o GPES Assistantships are awarded by semester for the upcoming academic year o The award includes a stipend and a tuition scholarship. o A full-time assistantship requires assisting 20 hours per week, which may involve attending class, teaching labs, tutoring students, and grading assignments and exams. o Some students may be awarded half-time assistantships. o Teaching Assistants are expected to participate in the Graduate Teaching Workshop, which is offered in late August, before classes begin.
