The Fain-Fain scholarship is a $500.00 scholarship given to that senior who will graduate
from Powell County High School and has persevered through a hardship and did his/her
very best to reach the goal of graduation. This hardship may be due to a physical
handicap, a personal tragedy, trial, challenge, or obstacle. This scholarship requires that
the student has attended this high school for at least three years. The student may use the
scholarship money for something he/she deems important but must specify in the
paragraph below what the money will be used for and why.

In a paragraph below, describe the hardship, trial or obstacle you have overcome in order
to graduate from high school. Include detail that you think will help the reviewer
understand what you have been through and also discuss how you have grown because of
this trail. Mention how you will use the money. All information will be kept confidential.
(Use back of paper if necessary.) Typed paragraphs would be appreciated but not
required. Check with the Youth Service Center for deadline to return.
