John E. McAtee, 63

BOARDMAN – Services will be held Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the
Bethel Lutheran Church for John E. McAtee, 63, who passed away Sunday evening at
Forum Health Northside Medical Center.

Mr. McAtee was born Jan. 6, 1945 in Youngstown, a son of Charles and Kathleen
Scully McAtee.

He was a 1962 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School. He owned and operated
Beechwood Cleaning Service, retiring in 2007.

John was a member of the church, it’s Men’s Brotherhood and the church council. He
was also a member of the Boardman Rotary and the Boardman Toastmasters. He was
a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Surviving him is his wife, the former Arlene Meese, whom he married Aug. 6, 1966;
two sons, Sean (Kim) McAtee of East Aurora, N.Y. and Glenn (Tracey) McAtee of
Toney, Ala.; three grandchildren, Ethan, Sarah and Matthew; five sisters, Mary
Catherine McAtee (Bill) Hagen of Hartford, Conn., Peggy McAtee (K.J.) Shanahan of
Grapevine, Texas, Judy (Chip) Smith of Salem, Charlene (Jack) Hay of Poland, and
Kathy McAtee (Hans) Turner of Coppell, Texas; four brothers, Bob (Trina) McAtee
of Manitou Springs, Colo., Bill McAtee of Bellingham, Wash., Jerry (Colleen)
McAtee of Boardman, and Charlie (Tamara) McAtee of Round Hill, Va.; and his
mother-in-law, Rebenna Meese of Boardman.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home and
Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to the church
memorial fund at the Bethel Lutheran Church, 425 Crestview Drive, Boardman, OH
