              “JASWM Announces the 6th Business Briefing and Golf Outing
                     Going Green: The Future of Manufacturing”

Battle Creek, Michigan, April 19, 2005—The Japan America Society of West Michigan
announces it is going “green” with its 6 Annual Business Briefing and Golf Outing to be held on
Friday, June 24, 2005, at the Michigan State University James Henry Center for Executive
Development, 3535 Forest Road, Lansing, Michigan. The theme for this year is “Going Green:
The Future of Manufacturing” addressing environmentally responsible manufacturing and making
it pay off. This interesting, timely discussion will be followed by a wonderful day on the very
green and beautiful MSU Forest Akers West Golf Course.

The Business Briefing will begin in the 9:00 am with remarks from Honorable Yoshiyuki Sadaoka,
Consul General of Japan in Detroit, followed by individual presentations by Kevin Butt, Chief
Environmental Officer at Toyota Motors NA; Mike Myszka, Denso Manufacturing of Michigan,
Inc.; and John Patten, Western Michigan University will discuss the various approaches that each
one of their respective corporations and institutions is taking in order to meet environmental
standards. This timely discussion will address environmental challenges and how they are
paying off.

The Golf Outing will begin after the business briefing at 12:15pm. The complete package for the
day which includes the business briefing, golf outing and dinner is $125 for JASWM members
and $150 for -non-members. A continental breakfast buffet will be available before the Business
Briefing. Individuals may attend separate events or purchase a complete package for the day.
Grand prize drawing includes 2 round trip coach tickets to Nagoya contributed by JAL and 2
tickets entry to the Aichi Expo 2005 contributed by Chubu Electric Power Company. There are
