School finishes on Tuesday 21 December for the three afternoon classes and Wednesday
22 December 2010 for the three morning classes.
This means there will be no afternoon session on Wednesday 22 December 2010.

Nursery will resume again on Thursday 6 January 2011.

The Christmas Singalong will be held on Friday 17 December at 11.15 a.m. and 2.45 p.m. in
all three classrooms and parents are welcome to attend. The children will go home at the
end of the Singalong.

The Christmas parties will be held on Tuesday 21 December (afternoon classes) and
Wednesday 22 December (morning classes) during the normal nursery sessions.
The presents have been donated by P.T.A. and I would like to take this opportunity to
thank P.T.A. for their generosity and for wrapping all 156 presents! Please note that the
afternoon session will finish at 2.30 p.m. on the 21 December and there will be no
afternoon extended schools session on that day. The morning session will finish at 11.00
a.m. on 22 December.

Liz Weir will read Christmas stories on Wednesday 8 and Wednesday 15 December at
6.30p.m.. This should be a very special experience for parents and children alike and I
would like to thank PTA for covering the cost of both evenings.

2010-11 INTAKE
I would anticipate that the demand for places will be extremely high this year. So if you
know anyone who has a child whose birthday falls between 2 July 2007 and 1 July 2008
please remind them to make sure that their child’s name is registered with us. This is for
the September 2011 - June 2012 intake and I really would not like anyone to miss the
deadline for returning their child’s application form. The application forms will be posted
just before the Christmas holidays and need to be returned to school no later than noon
on 12 January 2011.
While staff are very grateful to receive presents, this year we have decided to suggest
that parents might prefer to make a donation instead which we will send to the Children’s
Hospice. If you wish to make a donation, please either give it to any member of staff in
your child’s classroom or leave it into the office. Thank you.

Please remember that the collection date is Monday 6 December. You can leave your bags
into school from 1 December. Thank you very much for your support.

I hope parents are helping the children to look after the daffodil bulbs they planted so
carefully in Nursery! Thank you very much to everyone who contributed to the Marie Curie
Appeal which raised a total of £403. Well done!

I have thoroughly enjoyed this term and I know the children and staff have too. My
sincere thanks go to the staff for their continued dedication and hard work.
May I take this opportunity on behalf of the Governors and staff to wish you and your
family a very happy and peaceful Christmas and a happy and healthy 2011.
