The opulent interiors of Labassa have national significance which sets Labassa apart from other
grand C19th mansions. The sweeping staircase, stained glass window and 22-carat gold leaf
decorating the Drawing Room, provide a palatial backdrop for wedding ceremonies and
Labassa operates under a Museum House permit which restricts visitor numbers, the serving of
refreshments, and excludes Labassa as a venue for wedding receptions.
Wedding Ceremony and Photography: $1200 for a wedding ceremony for up to 80 guests
plus the wedding party. The fee covers the hiring of the property for up to 2 hours and includes
the use of part of the house and grounds for photography. Extra guests (to 100) and extra time is
charged at $110 For conservation reasons no candles, incense, confetti rice or bubbles may be
used, however, rose petals are permitted outside.
Wedding Photography only:
Interior and exterior – minimum booking of 1.5 hours @ $660
Additional time is an extra $110.00 per hour
Commercial fees for still photography, video and full film will be negotiated. The basic fee
Exterior location: $275.00 per hour
Interior location: $385.00 per hour
Note: the above rates are based on an 8-hour day and commence at start of bump-in to
completion of bump-out. These rates are market competitive according to Film Victoria and
Australian Filming Commission.
Additional charges may include: $55 per hour for supervisory staff
$100 per hour for curatorial consultation
Extra costs for security if required.
