Rohanee Cox (Basketball) Townsville

A talented basketball player, Rohanee has achieved what most could only dream- representing
Australia at the Olympics when she was a member of the Australian Opals at Beijing in 2008. As he
co-captain of the Townsville Fire WNBL team, Rohanee has also achieved Female Sportsperson of
the Year (2007,2008); Opals International Player of the Year 2007 and the Townsville Fire MVP

Roneece Cupitt (Hockey) Brisbane

Dedicating her time to volunteering within the community for the past 16-years, Roneece has used
her passion for sport to coach children in hockey, athletics, and swimming. Her involvement in sport
also includes the secretary and president of St Peters Western Swimming Association. Roneece’s
work in the community extends the realms of sport as she uses her skills in care and youth work to
help young indigenous people.

Joshua Ah Wong (Athletics) Mackay

Joshua has achieved outstanding accomplishments in the 5 years he has been competing in
Athletics. He has competed at club level to representing Australia and this October will travel to
India to compete in the Commonwealth Youth Games. Earlier this year Joshua competed in Saipan at
the Oceania Games and showed his determination to win the race. Josh was also selected in the
Australian U’19 training squad where he attended training camps at the Australian Institute of Sport.

Paul Fleming (Boxing) Sunshine Coast

At 20 years old, Paul is Australia #1 featherweight boxer and has just returned from Beijing where he
achieved his dream of Olympic glory. Paul won his first fight at the age of 13 and has never looked
back. Travelling hours each day to train, his determination paid off at the Australian Titles when he
won his division. Representing Queensland at State Championships and Australia at World
Championships, Paul is well on his way to a bright a successful future.

Nathan Jawai (Basketball) Cairns

Nathan is an outstanding sportsperson, who has achieved many of his dreams in pursuing a career in
Basketball. A member of the Cairn Taipans NBL team, Nathan was recognised as the NBL rookie of
the year and the Cairns Taipans most valuable player. His talent and determination were later
recognised when he represented his country as a member of the Australian Boomers Basketball
team. His big break in reaching the pro’s came when he was drafted into the NBA by the Toronto
