                   Keynote Address by Theresa Carter, President, OMNOVA Solutions Foundation

AKRON, Ohio—March 8, 2011— Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and
Richland Counties will celebrate an outstanding service year at its 2011 Annual Meeting to be held on
Wednesday, March 23, 2011, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Martin University Center in Akron (105 Fir Hill
Street). The event will feature a networking reception beginning at 5:00 p.m., followed by a program
beginning at 6:00 p.m., when the agency will celebrate its service delivery to over 7,700 individuals and thank
its long-time volunteers, including retiring Board Members Parker Berry II, Chip Moll, Patrick Oaks and Jennifer
Buchanan. Theresa Carter, President, OMNOVA Solutions Foundation, will deliver the keynote address –
“Making a Difference Through Volunteering”

Theresa provides leadership and strategic direction in managing the operation of OMNOVA Solution’s $30
million Foundation. She is accountable for community relations through charitable giving in each of
OMNOVA’s company site locations worldwide.

Theresa is a strong, committed volunteer who serves on six non-profit community boards and several advisory
councils and committees, including the United Way of Summit County, The Greater Akron Chamber, The
Community Health Center, The University of Akron Foundation, The NAACP Akron Chapter and Akron
General Medical Center, and she also serves as a board member with AAA Auto Club. Her committee
involvement also includes the American Heart Association (chair – 2010 “Go Red Luncheon”); the Akron
Public Schools Business Advisory Council, The American Red Cross of Summit County, and 91.3 FM- “The
Summit.” She has received numerous outstanding community recognitions, including the H. Peter Burg
Leadership Award through the American Red Cross of Summit County; the Elizabeth A. Dalton Community
Service Award presented by Greenleaf Family Center; and she was an ATHENA recipient, recognized for
helping women reach leadership potential and improving the quality of life for others in the community.

bar, and networking at 5:00 pm. Program begins at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $25 each ($5 donative value).
