Greetings from the Wickham Library. It’s time for our end of the year procedures to begin. One
part of these plans is to establish a global due date for all library materials that students have
checked out. This year that date is today—Fri., May 28. If your students still have library materials
that haven’t been returned, please help them to return those materials as soon as possible. If items
have been lost, we ask that students pay the cost of replacement. If you have any questions or
concerns, please contact me at 688-1177. Thank you so much for your help.

Cindy Kunde
Wickham Teacher Librarian

We know that your student’s last day in elementary school is special and memorable.
However, we ask that any activity that singles out a student or small group of students to
mark this occasion, such as limousine rides, be done off school property. Thank you.

The last day of classes is Monday, June 7th. Classes dismiss one hour early, at 1:55.

On behalf of the recess paras and the children at Wickham, I would like to thank the Wickham parents who so
generously contributed cards, games and toys for indoor and outdoor recess. Our indoor recess cart is full of new
items and the children are taking a fresh interest in indoor play. We have new jump ropes and chalk to add variety to
outdoor recess. There are soccer balls, donated by Des Moines Menace, on their way; thanks to Sandi Straetker! It is
an uplifting feeling to witness such a response.
I hope all our families have a safe and happy summer!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Hello. I am Peggy Fitzgerald and I work at Wickham as a library secretary and a para educator. I also run Prairie
School of Art, an after school and summer art program. If you are interested in a different kind of summer camp,
please consider joining Prairie School of Art this summer. There are eight weeks of different camps offered either from
8:30 to 11:30 or 1:00 to 4:00. Some of the camps offered are: Junk Art, Clay, Puppetry, Painting, Scenic Models and
Tie Dye. The class size is small and the camps are at my home studio next to a large prairie garden. There is time for
art and there is time to play in the yard! For more information, please call me at 354 5520 or email me at
pegnro@aol.com. I hope to see some Wickham students this summer!
