Enterprise Rent-A-Car Honored for Military Employee Support
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (January 18, 2005) – The National Committee for Employer Support of the
Guard and Reserve (ESGR) will honor Enterprise Rent-A-Car for its outstanding support of
employees serving in the military.
The company has advanced to the 5-Star level in the ESGR Statement of Support program for
their commitment in support of their employees serving in the military. They are only the second
employer in the state of Missouri to be recognized for achieving this level of support. Enterprise
will also be awarded the Patriot Award to recognize them as a premier employer of Guard and
Reserve Soldiers and Airmen.
Maj. Gen. (ret.) Loran Schnaidt, chairman for the Missouri ESGR Committee, will deliver the
award and thank Enterprise leaders for supporting their Citizen-Soldiers “Above and Beyond”
what the law requires.
“We at Enterprise believe helping our employees who serve in the military makes sense both in
terms of corporate citizenship and sound business practice,” said Don Ross, vice chairman and
president of Enterprise-Rent-A-Car. “While we are honored to receive this prestigious
recognition, we understand that the real heroes are those who answer the call to duty.”
Robert Landry of Alpharetta, Ga., will be an honored guest for the ceremony. Landry is a fleet
services group sales manager for Enterprise and is also a captain in the Army Reserve and one
of Enterprise’s 150 employees nationwide who have been deployed in the global war on terror.
He recommended his employer for the Patriot Award for the support he received while
Enterprise pays salary differential for its military members deployed to active duty. This is a
major benefit provided by the company to offset the loss of wages experienced by employees
serving on active duty. This benefit is consider an “Over and Above” policy for an employer
because it exceeds the legal requirement.
The Patriot Award honors employers who show extraordinary dedication to supporting their
employees who serve in the Reserves or National Guard. More information about ESGR
outreach programs is available at www.esgr.org.
