REYDON PRIMARY SCHOOL
                                        NEWSLETTER March 2012

Dear Parents/Carers

We would like to say welcome to the new children who have started in our school this term and to
wish them success with us here at Reydon.

Thank you
Thank you all for your continued support and involvement with a wide range of activities this term.
These events range from our 3 separate Mothers’ Day Lunches, Explorers and Victorian Day, Red
Nose Day, School Book Fair, class ‘Share’ afternoons to whole school Science Day and Sports Relief.

A huge thank you to all school staff for making the above events possible and such fun.

Sporting Achievements
We are very proud to announce that our Y4 and Y5 cross country team (16 pupils) took part in the
Bungay High School Cross Country Championship and beat 8 other local primary schools to win the
cup. Our Y5 boys and Y5 girls also won the individual team races and were presented with team

Our KS2 football team also played exceptionally well last week scoring 15 goals against 3 schools and
winning all their matches! Very Well done!

The Cross Country Cup and plaques are on display in the school entrance lobby next to our Beccles
Schools Athletics Shield which we won last year.

Thank you to Mr Jeal for all his support and hard work with all the sporting activities and to all of our
pupils for their fantastic efforts.

New Staff
We are very pleased to inform you that the Governors have appointed Mr Paul Atherton to
join our teaching staff from this September. Mr Atherton is presently Head of Year 6 at
Saxmundam Middle School. Mr Atherton will be teaching in KS2 and will be visiting our school
next term to get to know the school and our children.

New Style Holiday Form
We now have a new holiday form which is available from the school office. The form
highlights the Governments and LA criteria which must be met to allow schools to authorise
holidays during term times. We hope you find the new form useful.

We have our Easter celebrations this Thursday for KS1 and Friday for KS2, both events start at
9.15. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at school for these celebrations.
The ‘Friends of the School’ will be serving teas and coffees following both performances.
Our Easter raffle will be drawn on Wednesday 28th March. Thank you all for your donations,
they are very much appreciated.

From us all at Reydon Primary, have a super Easter and we look forward to seeing you all at
the start of the Summer Term on Tuesday 17th April.

Yours sincerely

GE Draper
Head Teacher
