"Accounting Scavenger Hunt"
Accounting Scavenger Hunt Form groups of three. Using only the items you have with you today, in pockets, bags etc. Find one entry for each of the following categories. Each item can only be used once. 1. A debit card 2. A cash receipt for something you don’t have on you right now. 3. A calculator 4. A bill or invoice for any item 5. A $5.00 bill (any year) 6. A Toonie 7. Canadian Tire money, Bonus Bucks, or other Business reward card, or coupon etc. 8. An item that one of your parents/ guardian bought you. 9. An item borrowed from someone 10. An item that you carried with you last semester 11. An item from a special someone (boyfriend / girlfriend) 12. Am item that was a gift from someone other than parent or significant other. 13. An item worth more than $25 14. Any item representing a liability. Place all the items on your group table (do not remove clothing; just create a card representing these items) and estimate their value. (What they are worth or represent) In your group: Sort the items into the Fundamental Accounting Equation and Create a group Balance Sheet As a class: Compare totals for each category with other groups Calculate your Score: 1 point for each category you had an item for (max 14) ____________ 0 - 8 points for category values ____________ 2-5 points for Balance Sheet format & neatness ____________ 2-5 points for teamwork and co-operation ____________ 2-5 points if you had fun doing this ____________ Total _____________ Be prepared to explain you group’s balance sheet and the questions/ problems that arose in determining the values.
