Background st The Energy Conservation Act, 2001 has come into force with effect from 1 March 2002 and it has been promulgated with a view to provide the necessary thrust to the Energy Conservation Movement in India. This workshop is organized as part of Life Long Learning (3L), under Bureau of Energy Efficiency for energy managers and energy auditors and other technical experts. Workshops is highly specialised and is conducted by Indian and European experts. Life Long Learning (3L) has been launched to update the knowledge of energy professionals on specialized topics related to new technologies, software in identifying the key areas of high energy consumption and their minimization. 2. Objective of the Workshop The one day workshop on “Adoption of Energy efficient process technologies and energy management practices with reference to implementation of Energy Conservation Act 2001 in Pulp & Paper Sector” is being organized with the main objective to disseminate information about State–of- Art energy efficient technologies available for pulp & paper sector by experts working in this field. Workshop will also address various energy management initiative taken up by the mills in this field. The objective is to share the experience with the German Experts and have one-to-one discussion. 3.
