Agencies
                  Patients may delay seeking care
                  Patients may be less likely to follow our advice
                  Patient assessment is more difficult
                  Patients may mistrust us and consequently disengage

                  “hospitals need to seek ways of enhancing communication
                  and understanding diverse populations. Failing to do so may
                  contribute to recognized racial and ethnic disparities in
                  health care. The Joint Commission is committed to assisting
                  hospitals in these efforts.” (Hospitals, Language and Culture,
                  2007, p. 14)
