For the past 12 years, Lew Bayer has been nationally recognized as
Canada’s leading expert on civility in the workplace, with focus on
social intelligence and culturally-competent communication. She is
founder and Executive Director of the Center for Cultural
Competence, CEO of civilityexperts.com – a multinational civility
training group, and President of the International Civility Trainers’

Lew is a recipient of the Manitoba Woman Entrepreneur of the Year
Award for International Business. She was also nominated for the
RBC Canadian Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2009 and
in 2010. In May 2010, Lew was the first Canadian to be awarded the
prestigious AICI International Civility Star Award.

A 7-time published author and national columnist, Lew is regularly
called upon for expert editorial commentary in her field. She is a
faculty member at Georgetown University Center for Cultural
Competence, and at the Canadian and American Management
Centers. She is also an alumni spokesperson for McGill University, a
master level trainer for the Canadian School of Service, and a
certified Culture Coach®.

Lew is currently spear-heading a civility initiative for school-age
children called “Macaroni and Please”. Her long-term goals include
plans for an International Conference on Civility and launching the
Canadian branch of “because it matters”, a community civility
initiative that focuses on building social capital which was started in
Florida, USA.
