Gastech 2011 to break innovative new ground by 2GubIGNH

Gastech 2011 to break innovative new ground in commercial and
technical gas topics

A premier event in the global gas calendar serving the entire spectrum of the upstream,
midstream and downstream gas sectors, Gastech 2011, held 21-24 March in Amsterdam and
hosted by Shell, will feature unique and innovative programme sessions and a powerful
opening leadership panel debate.

New features for the conference include examining the potential impact that unconventional
gas might have, the role of gas in a future low-carbon economy, innovation and technology
advances, and the future outlook for LNG. The independent Governing Body, comprising of
33 of the industry’s most influential individuals, noted the exceptional quality of papers, which
were selected from an unprecedented number of submissions. Nearly 350 were received for
just 70 available speaking opportunities.

“We’re bringing innovation to the conference, with a focus on many new things. Our research
identifies a genuine willingness and interest in seeing innovative new topics and papers
throughout the conference programme,” said Chris Clucas, Group Fleet Director, Bernhard
Schulte Ship Management and a co-Chair of Gastech 2011.

Gavin Sutcliffe, Head of Content for Gastech, said, “We will be delivering the highest quality
papers that will capture delegates’ imagination. The selection process was about cherry-
picking the papers that will deliver the most relevant, expert information to the global gas
business. Some sessions proved more popular than others and had many exceptional
abstracts submitted, which made selection especially tough. Many fine papers have missed
out, however, we’re now fully confident that we have an outstanding final programme that the
industry will relish.”

“The conference programme is extremely important as it is the vehicle that allows people in
the gas business to see the progress of industry evolution from all aspects, be it technical,
commercial or other. The programme value is that it highlights innovation and successes in
both the commercial world and technical world, and is beneficial to all parties in the gas
business,” said Philip Hunter, Manager of LNG & Gas Centre of Excellence, Bechtel Oil, Gas
& Chemicals.

The opening ceremony will be of significant appeal to all attending delegates, with ministerial
attendance expected and a powerful opening commercial panel forum featuring four of the
global gas industry’s most influential players. Chris Clucas said that, “Gastech breaks the
mould of traditional opening ceremonies!”

Gastech 2011 conference delegates and exhibition visitors attending Gastech will benefit
from an unrivalled opportunity to build new business partnerships, network with their peers,
keep abreast of industry news and developments and see the latest technologies and
innovations from the world’s leading suppliers.

“Gastech is at the front of LNG innovation and the arbiter of current thinking across the
industry. I have been involved in the exhibition and conference over the last decade and have
never been disappointed,” said Paul Sullivan, Independent LNG Consultant and co-Chair of
