Civil Engineer

Structural Engineer

Primary Purpose of the Job:
Supervise and control minor/major civil works for capital, non-routine and routine
maintenance projects within the Gas Operation jurisdiction. By preparing of
various progress reports, developing a working schedule/programme, reviewing
and approving shop drawings, issuing site changes, verifying quantities, issuing
work permits and conducting routine inspections of ongoing projects as well as
final hand over inspection.
Participate in developing projects documentations, specifications, bill of quantities

Education:

Pipeline Engineer

Primary Purpose of the Job:

Responsible for all decommissioning, removal and reinstatement of defective/
corroded onshore pipeline sections including re-commissioning as well as
demolition and removal of abandoned onshore pipeline including pigging, cleaning
and inserting of cross country pipelines associated with crude oil and gas
transmission & distribution systems under GDS department, which supplies gas
and crude oil to the various downstream industries, and to the NGL processing

      Eight to ten years experience in the engineering /construction / installation
       of oil, gas and / or petrochemical facilities including at least 5 years in the
       pipeline industry with hands-on experience developing and implementing
       pipeline safety programs , inspection and procedures, including technical
       knowledge of metallurgy and welding Should be fully familiar with the
       requirement of Engineering Standards and Corporate Engineering
       Standards related to pipeline including ASME B31.8: Gas transmission and
       distribution piping systems, ASME B31.4: pipeline transportation system
       for liquid hydrocarbons and other liquids & API Standard 1104: welding of

Senior Maintenance Engineer (Electrical)

Primary Purpose of the Job:

Supervises and coordinates the activities of assigned personnel in all aspects of
electrical engineering work including the operation, maintenance, shutdown work,
overhaul and breakdown repair of 33KV, 11KV, 3.3KV and 415V distribution
network systems, associated plants and equipments within, NGL Complex
Common Facilities including Canteen, Transport Facilities, Materials Store, Office
Buildings, Workshops Substations, NGL Laboratory, fire station, water pumping
stations. Directs , Co-ordinates and supervises the activities of assigned
personnel in all aspects of instrumentation engineering work , trouble shooting ,
maintenance work, shutdowns, overhauls and breakdown repairs of field
instrumentation, related to the NGL common facilities such as NGL laboratory ,
fire station , weather monitoring system, canteen , clinic , material stores ,
transport facilities , workshop, water/ irrigation pumping stations and all office
buildings.

Accountable for the major overhaul and repair of all PCV’s received from the
different NGL plants like NGL 1, 2 3 & 4 , and routine and non routine
maintenance in NGL common facilities such as NGL laboratory, Fire Station,
Canteen, Clinic, Material Stores, Transport facilities, water/irrigation pumping
stations during equipment / plant shutdowns and emergency work and all office
building such as OE, GP, NG, TD, TO. Reviews the engineering design and
provides site engineering support to new major projects. Ensures that all
electrical work and activities under his responsibility areas are executed as per
the approved procedure & in compliance with requirement of ISO quality
management requirements/ objectives to achieve maximum plants availability
and reliability while safety is maintained in a cost effective manner to achieve
operational objectives.

The job exists to provide efficient and quality maintenance of electrical
equipments of NGL Complex common facilities, System of oil and gas pipelines
within operating area to achieve production and safety objectives of QP. This job
will minimize plant down time and maximize plant electrical equipments
availability. Personally investigates and troubleshoots severe or untraceable
problems with all types of control instrumentation within the operational area.
Implements fault-finding routines and procedures, diagnoses problems and takes
appropriate action including devising and implementing solutions, referring to
other disciplines, recommending external expert assistance, and preparing
reports, as necessary. Provides technical input for Qatari Manpower Development,
including OJT and IDP’s.

Education:
B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering plus relevant short courses in safety and first aid

Experience & Skills:

      10-12 Years Electrical Engineering experience in the design, specification,
       installation and maintenance of HV up to 33KV, MV and LV electrical
       distribution systems, plant and equipment associated with the

Rigging Supervisor


Primary Purpose Of The Job:
Directs, control & coordinates the work activities of Senior technician (Riggers) in
the execution of the rigging, lifting or scaffolding activities within Gas Operations
(NGL complex, GDS stations, Tank Farm & Terminal areas and NFA).
To liaise with corporate HSE support dept for the coordination and approvals of
heavy lifts undertaken in the plant facilities.
Performs rigging calculations and ensures that all lifts carried out in the plant
facilities are handled effectively and safely, adhering to corporate safety
standards and procedures and in line with ISO: 9001; 2000 quality management
objectives and requirements.
Exercises financial authority at the level established by the management, as per
the QP manual of authorities.
Actions replacement/up-gradation of lifting equipment and machinery and
improve work methods.
Responsible for devising all lifting plans within the area of operations of Field
Support Department Gas Operations as follows - Devises and authorizes lifting
plans within the limitations of the current generic lifting plan, devises and submits
to ST Department for approval lifting plans outside the limitations of the current
generic lifting plan.

Education:
HND or a 2 year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
Certification in scaffolding, rigging and rigging supervision..

Experience & Skills:
Certified in LEENA related to the use, maintenance & statutory testing/inspection,
etc of lifting equipment, tools/tackles and loose gear.
Training in Fire and Safety/First aid with regards to hazardous areas and
materials is a definite asset.
Good knowledge or oral and written English.
Minimum of 7 years rigging experience in Oil and Gas Industry, with at least 3

                GAS PROCESSING DEPARTMENT

Lead Facilities Engineer

Primary Purpose of The Job:
To manage and supervise a multi-discipline Engineering section (Mechanical /
Instrument / Electrical) within the Gas Production Department to carry out
Projects and Plant Change Requests (PCRs) initiated by the Gas Production
Group.
To lead major feasibility studies & concept optimizations.
Provide techno-economic viability of project proposals.

Contributes to the review of Engineering projects and ensure that maintenance
requirement, spare parts, design codes, standards and specifications are
adequately met.

Coordinate / interface with Engineering / Projects / Consultants / Contractors and
relevant QP Department on all Gas Production Projects and Modifications. Review
technical documentation of major projects and approve in-house conceptual and
retail design.

To ensure engineering advisory and troubleshooting capability to the Operations
Group is maintained and functions efficiently. Prepare engineering procedures,
review international standards & guidelines & obtain waivers / variations.

To ensure that all modifications are engineered to the Corporation’s and
International Design Standards and codes of Practice.

To instigate and monitor financial control systems of the section budget. Prepare
strategy / plan for major equipment. Review business plan.

Conduct technical interviews, staff appraisals / recommend training.

To optimize utilization of Corporation’s resources by coordinating section’s
workload with other engineering departments. Plan, schedule and allocate
internal resources consistent with department priorities.



Education:
B.Sc Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Instrument, Electrical and a good
knowledge of quality management system.


Experience & Skills:
The positions requires an ability to work with a high degree of independence and

Senior Operations Supervisor

Primary Purpose of the job:
Directs controls and supervises the assigned operating group engaged in Gas
Processing and to ensure that NGL, NFGP, GSF, Merox, Storage & loading & all

Head of Rotating Equipment

Primary Purpose Of The Job:

       Manages the day to day activities of assigned personnel in the Rotating
       Equipment Section of Mesaieed Department to ensure proper utilization of
       manpower and equipment as well as provision of an efficient service to the
       Operations Department. Monitors work performance of subordinates
       through regular meetings. Ensures that such works are done on time and
       in a safe and economical manner.

       Manages overall planned maintenance, troubleshooting, major overhaul,
       condition monitoring, preparation of OSR, spare parts, contract scope of
       work for activities relating to major rotating equipment within Gas
       Operations Facilities. Ensures good custody and integrity of plant asset of
       major rotating equipment.

       Forecasts and controls the rotating equipment operation budget,
       negotiates and manages service contracts (gas turbines, process
       compressors, turbo-expanders, centrifugal pumps, axial compressors,
       diesel engines, etc). Provides expert and technical support in all aspects of
       maintenance and trouble-shooting of rotating equipment. Provide technical
       support assistance to Qatari staff and developees.




Education:

       B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering plus relevant specialist courses in gas
       turbines/major centrifugal compressors, operation/maintenance/condition
       monitoring and reliability engineering

Experience and Skills:

       Minimum twelve (12) years experience in the maintenance, overhauling,
       condition monitoring, and troubleshooting of all types of rotating
       equipment related to the oil/gas/petrochemical industry, with at least 4
       years in petrochemical industry.

Primary Purpose Of The Job:
Supervises the distribution of gas through pipelines, manifold and letdown
stations, ensuring that these are working efficiently and that any faults are
speedily rectified and that each consumer receives sufficient to all continuity of
operation. Supervises the maintenance of Stations / pipelines / LBVs / SBVs and
ensures faults are speedily attended to for minimum outage of pipelines and

production and export plans by liaising with upstream gas producers, related
Onshore and Offshore functions and downstream consumers.
Supervises and coordinates the distribution of gas through stations and
associated pipelines & its distribution to local customers.
Ensures that gas is distributed safely and efficiently and that maximum use is
made of available resources.
Develops and directs safe working practices in all areas and ensures all
regulations are adhered to.
Reviews, discusses and implements proposed/agreed man power plans and
Qatarization within the system.

Education:
