14 To whom was referred a Concurrent Resolution (S. 1036) to
15 request that the Department of Transportation name the portion of
16 South Carolina Highway 121 in York County from its intersection
17 with South Carolina Highway 901, etc., respectfully
18 REPORT:

12 TRANSPORTATION NAME THE PORTION OF SOUTH
13 CAROLINA HIGHWAY 121 IN YORK COUNTY FROM ITS
14 INTERSECTION WITH SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAY 901
15 TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH SOUTH CAROLINA
16 HIGHWAY 5 “FRANK BOBO MEMORIAL HIGHWAY” AND
17 ERECT APPROPRIATE MARKERS OR SIGNS ALONG THIS
18 PORTION OF HIGHWAY THAT CONTAIN THE WORDS
19 “FRANK BOBO MEMORIAL HIGHWAY”.

21 Whereas, Mr. Pierce Franklin “Frank” Bobo was born on July 7,
22 1954, and died on February 1, 2006; and
23
24 Whereas, a native of Rock Hill, he was the son of the late Pierce
25 Franklin Bobo, Sr. and Doris McFadden Bobo; and
26
27 Whereas, he was the loving husband of Tina Sheheen Bobo and
28 father of their two sons, Pierce Franklin Bobo III and Jake
29 Alexander Bobo; and
30
31 Whereas, he was a 1971 graduate of Rock Hill High School, an
32 active member of Mt. Holly United Methodist Church, Rock Hill
33 Masonic Lodge #111, York Rites, Hejaz Shrine Temple, and York
34 County Crescent Shrine Club; and
35
36 Whereas, Mr. Bobo was the proud owner and operator of Frank
37 Bobo’s Wrecker Service and Garage, B & B Collision Center, Inc.;
38 and
39
40 Whereas, he was a kind, compassionate, and outgoing gentleman
41 who was a friend to all and always lent a helping hand to anyone in
42 his community; and

2 Whereas, it is fitting and proper for the members of the General
3 Assembly to pause in their deliberations to recognize the many
4 accomplishments of this son of South Carolina by naming a
5 portion of South Carolina Highway 121 in York County in his
6 honor. Now, therefore,

8 Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives
9 concurring:

11 That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly request
12 that the Department of Transportation name the portion of South
13 Carolina Highway 121 in York County from its intersection with
14 South Carolina Highway 901 to its intersection with South
15 Carolina Highway 5 “Frank Bobo Memorial Highway” and erect
16 appropriate makers or signs along this portion of highway that
17 contain the words “Frank Bobo Memorial Highway”.

19 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
20 the Department of Transportation.
