La Clarté de Haut Brion 87-89* 16.5 94 90-93 n/r 94-95 Super nose. Really intense, lemons with grapefruit combined with some floral notes. Fresh and tangy on the palate,
ripe concentrated fruit, real intensity here. Very good balance of fruit and wood, long and lovely. PRB

concentrated on the finish. Delicious now, but has it got enough acidity for the longer term? PRB

du Tertre 85-87 16.0 91 88-91 16.5 91-92 Attractive, ripe, pure, fresh nose. Fine attack, ripe tannins and well rounded dark fruit, quite silky in the mouth.Quite
firm on the finish, but very nice juicy fruit emerges. Harmonious and long. PRB

of citrus fruit, grapefruit. Terrific concentration and intensity on the finish, very long. Superb.

weight and attractive spicy notes. Very pure and focused, lovely balance. Super fruit persistance on the finish. Very

Léoville Poyferré 91-94 16.0 + 93 91-94 17.5 91-92 Very good wine, big and extracted but not overdone. Superb sweep of fruit on the palate. They pushed this as far
as they dared and just got away with it! The tannins subside just as they threaten to overwhelm and the fruit
re-asserts itself. The acceptable face of extraction in this vintage. RBM

certainlysupple, no edge to the tannin. Big grip on the finish, but again, without aggression. RBM

Carruades de Lafite 87-89 17.0 92 90-93 17.0 91-92 Superb spiced fruit on the palate. Really plummy style. Lovely supple tannins. Fine, fresh and lovely persistence. RBM
Clerc Milon 89-91 + 16.5 93 90-93 17.0 91-92 Positive dark fruity nose, very attractive, pure and fresh. Fresh - more obvious acidity here but not unbalanced. Firm
ripe tannins, more grip (than d'Armailhac) but plenty of fruit. Very nice fruit on the finish, very long, more grip from
excellent acidity. This is very good wine. PRB
Duhart Milon 89-91 17.0 93 89-92 17.5 92-93 Firm, quite muted on the nose, though nice dark fruit character emerges. Good structure on the attack, nice ripe
tannins. Good dark fruit character, some smoky notes, good grip. Very good length and balance, very good. PRB

Latour 93-95 18.0 95 93-96 18.5 95-96 Big and densely packed on the palate. Tha tannins are firm but ripe. They don't have the sensual quality of Ch.
Margaux but are very well balanced. Vibrant and fresh acidity on the finish. RBM
Lynch Bages 90-93 16.0 + 95 92-95 17.0 93-94 Lots of ripe dark fruit on the nose, concentrated, with attractive new oak notes. Sweet fruit attack, big tannins too but
well integrated. Ripe complex, almost chocolatey. Very long, very delicious, PRB
