has seen steady on rise in the 1970’s and the drug choice during the 1980’s was crack.
When coming to the 90’s, the drugs that grew popular were club drugs such as “Ecstasy”

Last year, some forty new underground drugs were discovered and identified by the United
Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and every year a new drug appears on the scene. In
addition to drugs, there is also alcohol abuse and addiction which is a common problem in
the United States. It is estimated that about eighty percent of the Americans understand

thereby leading to a productive and drug free lives. Therefore, the importance of drug and
alcohol rehabilitation centers cannot be underestimated. There are about 23.6 million people
in United States who are either living with alcoholism or drug addiction or both of them.
Only ten percent of these men and women receive treatment at a rehab facility.
As per the available statistics, in a publicly- funded alcohol rehab facilities the highest
percentage of patients that is about 14.4% consists under the age group of 20-24 years old.
Out of this, about 20% of those men and women who suffer from alcoholism also suffer
