RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, the Assistant Vice
President for Alumni Engagement will play a critical role in creating and leading a
cohesive, groundbreaking new strategy and outreach effort to create and sustain
commitment and engagement among Occidental College’s alumni and friends of all
generations. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in leading, mentoring
and managing a strong professional team and will have knowledge of best practices in
metric-driven, market-tested annual fund programs.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor’s degree is required. Candidates must have proven success leading the
expansion and growth of alumni engagement and sophisticated annual fund
development programs. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible alumni
relations or annual fund experience (and exposure in both areas) would be ideal. An
understanding and appreciation for a liberal arts education is preferred. Candidates
must be comfortable with a flexible work schedule, including some evening and
weekend work.
