POST DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS IN CLASSROOMS.
The JV volleyball team had another big win over MILTON last night! Congratulations
FBLA is selling raffle tickets for a reserved VIP parking space for first semester.
The tickets will be sold during both lunches in the cafeteria. Prices are one ticket
for $2.00, or three tickets for $5.00. Tickets sales will end on Friday, September 14.
Attention faculty and AHS groups, teams and advisors, if you want a segment to appear
on the Morning Show, you must have a script emailed to us at
firstname.lastname@example.org no later than TUESDAY to appear on Friday's Show.
Students – This year on site college visits are scheduled through the Media Center with
Ms. Lynne Sullivan. Representatives from various colleges around the country come to
Alpharetta High School and schedule visits to meet with students and share information
about the college. Colleges coming to AHS are posted on our website, listed on our
scrolling announcements and available in the College and Career Cove. You may
register to attend an onsite college visit by going to media center in the morning, during
lunch or after school until 4:00 p.m. to sign up. Students – you need to register for on-
site college visits 24 hours in advance.
ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- A national college fair is on its way to north Fulton County.
North Point Mall will host the PROBE College Fair from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday,
Sept. 11.About 70 colleges, universities and technical colleges will be represented at the
fair. All north Fulton County high school students and their parents are welcome to
attend. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required. To sign up, visit the PROBE
College Fair website (http://www.gotocollegefairs.com/) and click "register now."
Students must bring their completed registration pass in order to get into the fair.
Attention college English students and anyone else arriving to school late: the softball
parking lot is now available for parking. Please use this lot and do not park in visitors.
PLATO classes begin this week. Please pick up your contracts from Ms. Johnson in
office suite 1220 by Wednesday afternoon.
Attention Junior or Senior TAG students interested in doing an Internship: sign-ups for
the Inside Link to the Outside World Seminar begin today in the TAG Office, room 3324.
Future interns are required to successfully complete this 12 week seminar BEFORE they
can participate in a TAG Internship. Sign-ups for this seminar will be Wednesday,
Thursday and Friday ONLY of this week.

Emerging Leadership Program- Looking for Tomorrow's Leaders
The Greater North Fulton Chamber is seeking qualified and outstanding high school
juniors from each public and private high school in North Fulton to form the ELP class of
2013. These juniors will develop foundational leadership skills during their class time,
personally network with community and government leaders, and help improve their
community through service with local charitable organizations. They will meet directly
with Georgia State University representatives, directors of college admissions, local
government officials, business leaders, and nonprofit directors from the North Fulton
area. By the time they graduate from the class, they will be encouraged and emboldened
to increase their involvement and investment in the community.

There will be a Tri-M Music Honor Society Call-Out meeting on Friday,
September 7th at 7:30am in the Chorus Room. All students enrolled in at least 1 semester
of chorus, orchestra or band are welcome. Any questions should be directed emailed to
Ms. Austin or Ms. Dworetz.

ATHLETICS, CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS
Basketball Cheerleading tryouts are Sept. 25-27, tryout packets can be picked up in
the Attendance Office.
Interested in joining the Debate Team? There will be a meeting for all those interested
in joining on Tuesday in room 3212 at 3:45 am. If you are interested in joining, but
cannot attend the meeting, please talk to Mr. Smiley in room 3212.
The Spanish Club will be conducting their first meeting Wednesday, September 12
at 8:00am in room 3211. Old and new members are welcome. See you there!
Attention future students of law and/or enthusiasts of the legal system. The Alpharetta
High School Moot Court Club will be holding its first meeting on Tuesday, September
11th after school in room 3321. Come if you enjoy trial simulations and, of course, fun.

Dance Team tryouts will be held immediately after school on Monday, September
10th in Ms. George’s room 4321. Please wear a white shirt and black shorts.
Science National Honor Society will have an informational meeting on Tuesday,
September 11 at 8 am in room 2306. Anyone interested in joining should attend.
Would you like some service hours? Would you like a chance to pad your college
application while having fun promoting a good cause? If so, then come to our first
Students Against Destructive Decisions club meeting on Friday morning, September
7th at 7:50 am in room 5227. We will have doughnuts!
FCA will meet in the AUX Gym starting on Friday, Sept. 7th at 7:30 a.m.
Attention culinary students interested in being on the competition team. Applications for
the Alpharetta Culinary Team are now available from in Room 1364 and must be
returned by Friday of this week.
The ART HONOR SOCIETY will meet on September 13th at 7:50 in Art Room 7220.
