The Falkland Island Government is offering such an unparalleled opportunity. The successful applicant would be the second full time legislative drafter to join the small existing team of five lawyers who undertake the legal services role of the Falkland Islands Government. The main duties of the post include: Drafting primary and secondary legislation Working closely with Government decision makers and advisory bodies in developing new laws Helping to review and update the laws of the Falkland Islands and South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands Contributing to the improvement of drafting practices and procedures Working with external contract drafters Applicants must be a solicitor or barrister with at least five years post qualification experience (including one year’s experience in legislative drafting in the United Kingdom, a British Overseas Territory, Ireland, or the Commonwealth). The appointment will be a fixed term one for two years. The salary on offer will range from £42,000 up to £78,000 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.
