HAPPENING TODAY:
     NHS meeting: 2:50 and 3:50 in the auditorium – mandatory
     RHS Class Ring orders: Parent night, 5:00 – 7:00, RHS main hallway

     STEP TEAM Practice in auditorium 4:15-5:15. Meet in Art Room F215 at 3:50.
     Speech and Debate students and YIG participants are reminded to turn in any fruit money and fruit orders sold to
        Mrs. McAllister today. MONEY AND ORDERS FOR FRUIT WILL BE COLLECTED EACH TUESDAY BETWEEN NOW AND
        OCT. 26.
     Easy Writer books are in. If you preordered, please stop by the School Store to pick up your copy.
     Congratulations to all HOMECOMING WINNERS: Freshman Attendant Brooke Worthington, Sophomore Attendant
        Amanda Martinez, Junior Attendant Jessi Helmrich, Senior Attendant Landon Garris, and RHS 2010 Homecoming
        Queen Blair Worthington. Congratulations to the Senior Class for winning the homecoming float competition!
        Great job to all participants! Congratulations to the Turvers (Devin Allen, Logan Dew, Drew McGee, Gray Thomas,
        Bailey Tollison) for winning the 2010 Dodgeball Tournament!
     SPIRIT WEEK: Today is NERD DAY! Don’t miss bowling tonight at Peach Bowl on Wade Hampton from 6-8 pm. $5
        for unlimited games and shoe rental.
Students: Thank all of you who have participated in Spirit Week activities. Remember that you are expected to be in
class on time and remain in class for the entire class period. Spirit Week activities do not allow you to miss class time.
Remember that all costumes are to be in compliance with the school dress code and that NO CROSS DRESSING will be
permitted. While we encourage your participation, please do not take advantage of Spirit Week by going too far with
your dress or behavior. ~Andy Crowley, Principal

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Tips to Help Prevent the Flu:
1. Wash your hands often with soap and warm water.
2. Cover your mouth with a tissue or your upper sleeve when you cough or sneeze. If you use a tissue, throw it away
and then wash your hands.
3. Consider getting a flu shot.
4. If you have the flu, it is best to stay home and get well.

      CSC wants to thank everyone for a wonderful Homecoming weekend! Pictures taken in the photobooth at the
       dance are available online at www.flashbooth5.com for sharing. The pictures will be available online for 60 days.
      SENIORS: Stop by G120 to find out who bought you. Owner must pay for wristband before Wednesday. You must
       have a band to participate.
      BETA applications for all 10, 11, and 12th graders are now available on the bulletin board in the M-Hall and on the
       RHS Website. Applications are due by noon on Oct. 12.
      Long-sleeved Homecoming t-shirts will be available for $13 each in the T-Mall on Friday at lunch or from Ms. Fussell
       in H125. Silly Bandz will be on sale also on Friday in the T-Mall at lunch and at the football game Friday night.
      This is the last week of the Speech & Debate Coupon Book Sale. Anyone wishing to purchase the 2011 Attractions
       coupon book for $20 and get the 2010 book free should contact Mrs. McAllister in G108.
      INVISIBLE CHILDREN: Your last chance to turn in membership forms is Friday, October 8. See Ms. Larson or Mrs.
       Benjamin for forms.
      JUNIORS: It’s time to order your RHS class ring. Herff Jones representatives will be on campus Wednesday, Oct. 6,
       during lunch in the T-Mall to take class ring orders. Down payments start at $60. Payments may be made by
       money order, cashier’s check, cash, credit card or check. Any senior who has not ordered their class ring may do so
       at time. Extra ring packets are available in the front office.
      Project STAND t-shirts for Red Ribbon Week will be on sale this week in the T-hall during lunch . The design by
    Heather Husse will be available. The t-shirts are being sold for $8.00. You may also see Molly Kay, Loren Williams,
    Heather Husse, Mrs. Moreno, or Ms. Mascho.
   SPEECH & DEBATE: There will be a mass rehearsal of all students competing in the Bob Jones Academy Speech
    Tournament Tuesday night from 6:15-8:15. Additional individual rehearsal times have been posted outside G108.
    All permission forms for the Bob Jones Tournament and the driver’s permission forms are due now.
   A representative from the South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics will be hosting a Q&A
    session on October 12 at 6:00 PM at the Ogletree Deakins Board Room. If you need more information about the
    Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics, please see Mrs. Rogers in the Guidance Office.
   The first mailing of yearbook sales order forms have been sent to the address on record with the school. Use
    these order forms to purchase your yearbook at the lowest price offered this year. At the end of October, the
    price increases by $5, so order yours today. You can also order your yearbook by clicking the "order your
    yearbook" button on the RHS homepage. Last year there were NO extra yearbooks for sale on yearbook day, so
    order yours today!

SPORTS SHORTS:
 Any girl interested in trying out for softball, there is a meeting Thursday October 7th right after school in the PE
  classroom. Please attend because we will be handing out physical paperwork and you will be introduced to your
  new coach.
