•   This week we read Frog and
    Toad Are Friends.

• Did you know that there are many
     similarities and differences
      between frogs and toads?
         Skin
• A frog has smooth,
 moist skin
•A toad has rough,
 bumpy skin
    Habitat (where they live)
• A frog lives mostly in or
 near water

• Do you think toads
  swim?
        Toad
•Sometimes toads will
 go into water
•They spend most of
 their time on land
       Swimming
• Frogs are fantastic
 swimmers

• Toads aren’t as good
  because they have shorter,
  less powerful back legs!
      Jumping
• A frog hops and
 makes very long
 jumps
•A toad walks instead
 of jumping
         Heat
•Both frogs and toads
 avoid direct sunlight
•They don’t like the
 heat
       Activity
•Frogs and toads like
 to do things at night
 and on rainy days
•Can you guess why?

 like sunligh!
        Vision
•Frogs and toads both
 have bulging eyes
•Do you think they
 have good vision?

 amazing vision!
•It must be those
 big eyes!

 They have teeth to
 chew food like we

•A group of frogs
 is called an army

        Eggs
•Frogs and Toads both
 lay eggs
• They do this
 differently
•Who do you think
 lays eggs in
 clusters or groups?
•Who lays their
 eggs in chains?
• A frog lays their
 eggs in cluster and
 a toad in chains!
       Life Span
•Both frogs and toads
 tend to live anywhere
 from four to fifteen
