       The 2009 Freshman Class
• We enrolled 2,076 new freshmen and 590 transfer
  students.
• Students are coming to us from nearly all 50 states
  and from 16 foreign countries.
• The average ACT increased slightly to 26.6.
• The average GPA of the class increased to 3.7.
• There are 1,554 scholarship recipients (meeting a 3.5
  high school GPA and 25 ACT)
• There are 67 Presidential Scholars, 5 Cristo Rey full
  scholarship award winners and 5 Presidential full
  scholarship award winners.
• Students-of-color increased by 3% bringing the total
  up to 31% of the class.
• The number of males increased by 2% and the ratio is
  35% male and 65% female.
• 15% of the class are legacy students (303 total).
         Graduate and Professional
           Enrollment Statistics
• We enrolled 1,300 graduate and professional
  students which is up 14% over last year.
• At the Master's level the increase is even
  greater, up 19% over last year.
• These enrollments are the largest new student
  enrollments since GPEM started tracking over
  six years ago.
