1- 1) Chair – There were still no volunteers to act as Chair so the
Resignations Friends remains without a Chair for a second year.
and 2) Treasurer – In the absence of any other
Appointments volunteers/nominations, Lesley Wilford agreed to remain
of New as Treasurer – Proposed by Frew Loveday, seconded by Jan
Members 3) Secretary – As there were no volunteers to take on the role
of secretary, Jan Knight stated that she will resign as
secretary in July rather that now as Douglas will be moving
to middle school in September. This will give more time to
find a replacement as it is a requirement of the Charities
Commission that the group have a secretary. The Friends
gave thanks for all her help over the last 5 years. .
4) Trustees – Frew Loveday agreed to remain as a Trustee –
Proposed by Lesley Wilford, seconded by Jan Knight. In the
absence of any resignation from either Helen Kelsall or
Clive Berry, all attendees agreed to assume that they will
remain as Trustees for another term
2– Lesley presented the full report for the academic year which is
Treasurer’s attached as an annex to these minutes. A brief summary is as

3 – Matters 1) Pancake day – This was a great success and thanks was

Meeting Berry and all is believed to be going well with all the
chocolate purchased for the day.
3) May Pole –
a. Flower preparation is still scheduled to take place in Frew Loveday
Trevyn Hutt’s garden on the morning and Helen
Broome will be asked if she would create the head
dress for the May Queen.

4) Teas in the Garden –
a. Cups and Saucers – Frew has done some research All
on the internet regarding quotes for new crockery
but the best quote at present is from Argos at £10
for 4 cups and saucers. It was felt that this was a
little too expensive and further investigation is
b. As last year was very busy due to publicity, it was Frew Loveday
felt that the Friends would benefit from advance
warning of any press releases to avoid under

4– 1) Pet & Pony
Forthcoming a. Friends have been asked to run a cake stall and a
Events Tombola stand. Sundial class will be asked to
provide cakes .
b. Letters are to go out two weeks before the event Frew Loveday
requesting help on the day and donations for the
c. Helen Kelsall will be asked to liaise with Ruth Helen Kelsall
Darling and Clare Shearer (this year’s event
organisers) re tentage for the Friends stalls. Will
there be tentage provided or we be expected to
use our gazebo? If so will it meet the organisers’
health and safety requirements?
2) Barrow of Booze – It was proposed that this be run All
independently from the Pet and Pony Show possibly in late
Nov or early Dec in time for Christmas and New Year
festivities. Collecting should start following the year’s
bonfire night celebrations. To be discussed further at next
3) Overbury Street Market – There will be no Friends
involvement in the street market this year.
4) Cricket Club Fun Night – Pernilla will speak to the Chair of Pernilla
the Cricket Club to see if they wish to involve the Friends in Pascolutti
this year’s festivities.
5) Sports Day
a. The date for sports day is provisionally 6th July with
7th July as a fall back if the weather on the 6th is

a. Lesley will speak to Georgina Mucklow-Davis to see Lesley
if she would agree to pull together the parents of Wilford
this year’s leavers re the leavers’ gift to the school.
b. The Friends agreed to purchase bibles for this Frew Loveday
year’s leavers and Frew will look into this.
c. As there are so few leavers this year, it was All
proposed to have a school picnic and games after
the service in order to encourage as many parents
of non leaving children to attend the service. This
to be discussed further at next meeting.
7) Hot Dog Day
a. Helen and Martin Kelsall will be asked if they Lesley
enjoyed organising last year’s Hot Dog Day enough Wilford
to consider taking on the organisation of this year’s
Hot Dog Day.
b. Pernilla to confirm the date. Pernilla
5 – School’s 1) Next version of Active8 – cost approx £180 – Attending
Wish List members agreed to provide the funding.
2) New cameras for the children to use. – Attending members
agreed to provide a maximum of £300 toward the purchase
of four or more cameras.
3) New ceiling for Sundial class -The school would like to
improve the ceiling in Sundial class to match that of
Sheldon’s. A quote of £19,500 has been obtained and the
school has a shortfall of between £3000 and £4000. –
Attending members agreed to meet the shortfall up to a
maximum of £4000 providing the capital is available at the
time of purchase.
6 – AOB 1) The apparent lack of support for the Friends, highlighted by Frew Loveday
the fact that there is now no Chair or volunteers for the
post of Secretary, is now a matter of great concern. Frew
will speak to Bruce Hutt to get him to help raise awareness
of the importance of the Friends at the launch for the new
build. Should the Friends fold due to lack of support there
will be financial ramifications as the group’s charitable
status has great financial significance with respect to the
funding of the new building works. The need for a new
Secretary will be highlighted in the school news letter along Pernilla
with the reminder for the next meeting. Pascolutti
2) Gift Aid – Pernilla is to look into Gift Aid and how to get the
best out of it as it is felt that the Friends are missing out on
a fund raising opportunity
