Brief Description Would you like to share your enthusiasm for the internet with
What does the opportunity people who lack confidence getting online, or who need
involve? support to access the internet? If so, we have a great
                                 volunteering opportunity for you.

The project will be open during the working week, so you’ll
need to have some availability in the day. There will be a rota
system and you can commit to the same time each week (e.g.
                                 Monday afternoon).

What will the volunteer do? During this time you will enable the computer room to be
open, support people one-to-one, or create accessible
resources in quiet times as well as supporting tutors in taught
                                 sessions.

What skills are required?  Confidence around computers and the internet (you
don’t need to be a computer programmer or anything
                                          like that!)
 Positivity and enthusiasm around the benefits of
                                          getting online
 Ability to explain things simply and clearly
 A problem solving approach – you can take some
initiative if paid staff aren’t around
 Reliability – we’ll have some rota system and will rely
on you to keep the drop in open
 Availability in the working week

Optional extra – it would be great to find someone
who can create accessible resources or research
content for the taught sessions online (this could be
a separate role if you want to volunteer from home or
don’t want to work directly with other people)

Duration Ongoing or one off
